Seabrook Harbor

Seabrook Harbor stands alone as the premier fishing/boating destination in the state. Recreational anglers and boaters realize that preparations can be time consuming, often taking as long as their time spent on the water. So the Montz family have made it their business is to ensure that every customer gets the most out of their trips by maximizing their leisure time. Where else can you find a marina that will take care of everything from storing your boat in a state-of-the-art, ultra-secure facility, to removing, transporting and launching your boat, to fueling it with gas or diesel? The staff at Seabrook Harbor will even fill your wells with live shrimp and your boxes with ice and your favorite cold drinks. This can all be taken care of with one quick and easy telephone call.

The crown jewel of Seabrook Harbor is its state-of-the-art, 200-boat, dry storage facility. It can accommodate boats ranging in size from 17 to 46 feet long and can weigh up to 22,000 pounds. All that a customer needs to do is to call Seabrook Harbor and let them know what time they want to go fishing or boating. Seabrook Harbor takes care of the rest. It’s really that simple.

Each storage facility is equipped with individual locking system and is built rock solid. It is so strong that the dry storage facility withstood the winds of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. While wind gusts of 175-mph knots were registered at the nearby Lakefront Airport, there was little damage to Seabrook Harbor. The reinforced steel building and its concrete floors are safe and secure. Boat owners can lock up and leave their vessels knowing that their recreational investments are in good hands. In addition, Seabrook Harbor is completely gated and all customers are given a pass code to access their boats after hours.

An increasing number of anglers are now taking full advantage of the services here, and are literally able to get in a morning of fishing on any weekday, before making in to the office. So it is no longer necessary to own an exclusive waterfront home to enjoy the same luxuries of the rich and famous.

“We have customers who will leave to go fishing at 6 (a.m.) and will be back for 8 (a.m.),” said co-owner Jeff Montz. “They can shower here, get dressed and be at their office by 9 (a.m.).”

Seabrook Harbor is far from your typical Louisiana marina. The restrooms here are more like those one would expect in a nice hotel. These facilities include private showers, vanities, central air conditioning, heating, attractive tile flooring.

Other amenities include fish cleaning stations, the Bait House and Ship Store, which carries everything from food and drinks, to boat supplies and fishing tackle. Store hours are from Friday through Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Ship Store carries everything from cold drinks and beer to snacks, tackle and boat supplies. Seabrook Harbor is being landscaped with picnic facilities that the whole family can enjoy before or after a day on the water.

And at the end of the day Seabrook Harbor staffers will refuel their customers’ boats upon request, clean and package their fish, even wash and wax their boats. There is no end to what the staff here will do for its customers.

“We want to our customers to get the most out of their time on the water,” Montz said. “We’ll take care of anything they want us to.”
