With a vast network of bayous and bays, wetlands, coastlines and offshore oilfields, lower Plaquemine's Parish is blessed with world-class fishing, hunting and sightseeing opportunities. With its abundance of fish, birds and wildlife, the lower Mississippi River Delta is regarded as one of the most prolific estuaries in the world.

A growing number of anglers, hunters and sightseers know it. They arrive year-round, with boats, decoys, tackle boxes, and ice chests in tow. They come for the ultimate outdoors experience - from targeting trophy trout and bull redfish, to chasing tarpon in the coastal passes, to monstrous tuna and blue marlin offshore.

And because of its unique position on the Mississippi Flyway, the Delta offers some of the best duck hunting in the continental United States.

Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabin Rentals and RV Park are proving to be a favorite getaway for families in search of the ultimate outdoors experience.

As regular guests to these fabulous waterfront cabins in southern Plaquemine's Parish, Paul and Barbara Pokorney of Baton Rouge made regular trips here for more than five years. To the couple, this was more of a "home away from home." The cabins and RV Park, with all amenities and necessary hookups, was the perfect vacation destination.

Most guests are impressed with the peaceful and quiet waterfront surroundings. Clean, affordable living quarters, and right in the heart of Sportsman's Paradise - what could anyone else ask for?

When the former owners decided to sell Nell's Cabins, the Baton Rouge couple saw it as the perfect chance to keep their favorite getaway, as well as an investment opportunity.

From vacationing families to the sportsmen who want every convenience, Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabins and RV Park is the place to go. Each split-level air-conditioned cypress decor cabin is furnished with all amenities including a full bath, kitchen, living room, cable color television, wireless high-speed Internet service, a covered porch and several barbeque pits. These units will sleep six comfortably. In addition, Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabin Rentals and RV Park offer an even larger comfortable trailer that will sleep up to 12 persons.

"It's the perfect destination for families, or serious sportsman," said Paul Pokorney, co-owner. "Each cabin has a porch with a cypress glide swing."

One of the best reasons for a stay at Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabin Rentals and RV Park is the exceptional fishing. The cabins are just a few short miles away from four area marinas. But guests may choose to take advantages of a private 110-foot long fishing pier on one of the most productive areas in the state - Yellow Cotton Bay. In the fall, winter and early spring, this bay is one of the top fishing destinations in the state.

"The newly rebuilt pier has been a big attraction. Our guests love it," said Barbara. "They can fish right off of it for speckled trout and redfish. But they can also launch from one of the nearby marinas."

Guests at Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabin Rentals and RV Park can fish in the morning, comeback to the private pier and leave their boat there.

"They can come in and shower, eat lunch, rest in the comfort of their air-conditioned cabin, and then return to the water for an early evening," she said. "That's a real convenience."

Guest may want to hire one of the many qualified veteran charter captains who are sure to show them a fishing trip of a lifetime.

Other amenities that guests are sure to enjoy at Yellow Cotton Bayside Cabin Rentals and RV Park is a fully screened fish-cleaning area, and laundry facilities. There is also a brand new covered pavilion with barbeque grills, gliders and picnic tables.
