Thursday: Mixed bag of Trout, Big Reds and Sheepshead. Friday: By noon a 125 fish limit of Trout and a couple of big Reds. Saturday: Another mixed bag of Trout, Reds, Black Drum and Sheepshead.
Everything right now is being caught on plastic cocahoes and Dudleys. It is so apparent that everyday is different especially this time of the year. Everyone has had a good time and no one has gone away anywhere near empty handed.
Here are some photos of our Thursday and Friday people with some nice fish. Unfortunately we have none for today because the Captain was unable to locate his camera. Oh my!!! The fishing is getting good and will stay that way as weather permits. Get your reservations set up now for your trip South. Give us a call at 985-325-4266, 225-413-1431 or e-mail us via Rodnreel. God Bless and have a great weekend!!!

The fishing is still good but not real consistent on the Trout yet with conditions changing almost daily. I believe that the fish are moving a lot right now. You can catch a load in one place one day but they are gone the next. Most catches since last week have been a mixture of Trout, Reds some which were to large to keep, and fun catching Sheepshead.
I am still sharing some of the photos of our December catches and the people that fished with us. I get so far behind once the holidays hit but I am catching up, finally! Thanks to everyone that fished with us this winter and for being so patient with getting their photos on our site.
Give us a call ASAP, we are getting booked even into May right now. 985-325-4266 225-413-1431 or e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices and other information. May God Bless All!!! And we'll be seeing some of you soon for your great day of fishing the LOUISIANA COAST!!!!

Missouri's Syngenta Group, headed up by Craig Stoker, had an awesome two days of fishing here in mid winter on the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Guided by Capt. Tommy Martin and Capt. Gary Harp, these guys made a huge haul on the Redfish(90 or more), numerous Sheepshead, black drum and 30 or 40 Speckled Trout. Again, everything was caught on artificial Dudley's and Cockahoes. The very cold temperatures did not stop these guys in the least, I guess they must be somewhat used to that kind of weather since they all live far North of Louisiana. But I think all their energy was pretty much spent by last night, especially after a big delicious steak dinner at Toupsie's Kajun Eatery down at Fourchon. They all looked well this morning as I saw them head back north with an enormous load of filet fish and pounds of huge #9 count shrimp. Great group and great fun to fish with!!
Check out this lively group and the cool photos!! Call for your trip!! 985-325-4266 225-413-1431 or e-mail via Rodnreel!!! God Bless All!!!

Cold real winter weather has changed the game plan somewhat. We are still catching fish but not the big numbers on the speckled Trout. I'll get a better report and some photos on the past couple of days probably this afternoon. Capt. Martin and Capt. Gary Harp have been fishing the same group for the past 2 days. There are 7 guys with the Syngenta Company, out of Missouri. This company has chartered with us multiple times over the past several years and have always had good trips.
I am still re-capping some of our November/December catches. People would not believe how good the fishing really can be in the winter time when conditions are even just decent. The customers we had, had great times and some good catches in spite of the cold weather. Actually we've only had a couple of very cold spans develop this year. This may be the 3rd one we are in right now. It's just important that you know how to dress for the extremly cold days!! We have probably had more problem with rain this year than the really cold weather.
Anyway, here are some more photos of what went on here at Martin Pro-Guide in the months of November and December. Enjoy!!! Give us a call at 985-325-4266, 225-413-1431 or e-mail us via Rodnreel for any information. Be careful and stay safe at the Mardi Gras!!! God Bless All!!

It was a major rough but productive Trout day for Billy Joe Dendy, Bruce Dendy and Rhonda Accord. 97 Trout were in the boat by 11:00 and the group was ready to go. Miss Rhonda had a little sea sickness but was a real trooper hanging in there catching her share of those beautiful trout. Again, all fish were caught on an avacoda Dudley.
Predicted conditions do not look good for the next several days but if you can get to the fish you can catch. One thing you can't do anything about and that is the weather. We have been extremly fortunate these past several days.
Give us a call for your March, April and May bookings now. 225-413-1431, 985-325-4266 or e-mail via Rodnreel. We are booking up fast!!!

Jim Roth and Dick Woosley hit the jackpot today on their charter trip with the Captain, getting a limit of super-size speckled trout by early this morning(8:00). The Dudley was deadly!! But this day it was the motor oil colored with a chartreuse tail. The Reds weren't as plentiful as yesterday but they did catch 6 or 7 bulls that were caught and released. This warmer, calmer weather has done miracles these past several days. According to the forecast the winds will be picking up which will make it more difficult to get to where the fish are. Captain Martin said that he will just have to figure something out for tomorrow if this is the case. It's been an exciting 3 days to say the least and super-fun for everyone that has been in on all the action.
The phone is ringing so I urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible. Call 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266 or you can e-mail via Rodnreel for any questions you may have. Enjoy a few photos of Jim and Dick on a very memorable fishing trip!!! God Bless you all!!!

This beautiful weather, the first we've had in months, I think, sure makes you start itching for some fishing. A lot of our people are making plans now, which is a smart thing because before you know it Spring will be here and everybody will be wanting to fish at the same time. But anyway, we are ready! We are absolutely looking forward to a phenomenal Spring and Summer season.
Fall and Winter fishing has been really good when weather conditions permitted us to fish. We have had some super nice catches of Trout and Redfish by most of the people that have fished with us during this winter season. I have 30 or 40 photos that I plan to run over the next several days to give you an idea of what has been going on here at Martin Pro-Guide from October until now. It's has been a relatively slow winter with all the holidays, crazy weather and myriad of other things that occur this time of the year but were still blessed with some very good trips.
"We are getting cranked up" as Capt. Martin would say, and getting ready for better days ahead. So it's time to start thinking seriously about making plans for your charter trips to the awesome Louisiana Gulf Coast before things get to hectic, and I promise it want be long happening, especially if the weathers cooperates just a little. The phone is starting to ring, people are getting geared up and are in dire need of a good theraputic fishing trip after all the hustle bustle of the holidays and the depressing atmosphere of all the rainy dark weather that has plaged us for weeks. But thank the good Lord for sunshine after the rain and for not putting more on us than we can bare!!!
So, GIVE US A CALL, It is positively that time again!! I can't stress enough how important it is to make plans early in order to get the dates and accommodations that you want. CALL--985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431 or you can e-mail us via Rodnreel.com for any questions you may like to ask. Enjoy the photos that I will be putting up over the next few days!!GOD BLESS and we'll be seeing you soon!!!!
PS. We are making plans to update our web-site this summer for those of you that are tired of looking at the same O....same O.....

For the past couple of months we have been just about as busy as you can get, for which we are very grateful, especially after such a long lull after Katrina. All the company that we have had has been great and the fishing has been just about as good as it can get. We have had so many limits of gorgeous Trout caught that we keep wondering how much longer they will hold out. Last year we were catching lots of Trout up until the time that Katrina hit so it is very probable that it will be the same this year. Besides the Trout we have also had some nice catches of Redfish and Mangrove Snapper.
As usual we have had some awesome people to fish with and captured some really great photos that we can share with you to show just what the fishing has been like down here for the past 6 weeks or so. Kids and adults alike have had fishing trips of a lifetime. And I promise that we do our best to give people what they come for. It has just been an awesome Spring for us and everyone that has visited and or fished with us. We just can't ask for anything more, except that we be spared from another Katrina or any other destructive tropical storms this year. Every one is recovering well and we sure don't need any set-backs at this point. But anyway all is well, today, here at Martin Pro-Guide and we are looking forward to the rest of the year and more great fishing!!!
Check out the photos of the fish, the people and the fun they have had fishing with us along the coast of most southern Louisiana. Give us a call for your trip and we will promptly get everything set up for you!! Don't wait!!!Call today!!!You will miss a great fishing experience!!!Thanks to all that have already fished with us and we surely hope you come again!! We love what we do and do what we love!!!God Bless America and especially the Gulf Coast!!! TOMMY & BRENDA MARTIN 985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431

The Trout fishing is going on heavy duty right now!!! Daily limits of absolutely gorgeous trout has been the routine for the past week or so. Big trout were being caught up to this time but just not the number. The bays and islands are heavy with Trout and the weather has been favorable for being able to fish these areas properly. Most of the Trout have been caught with artificial lures, such as the Deadly Dudley(Red, motor oil, glittery colors)and the same with artificial cockahoe minnows. However, it has been reported that there have also been some good catches on live minnows with a cork and also tightlining. The fishing has just picked up tremendously the past several weeks with some good Redfish, Mangrove Snapper and Red Snapper catches as well. It's just that time of the year and we expect the fishing to be unusually good this whole year.
I have lots of photos of the great people that have fished with us here at Martin Pro-Guide the past several weeks. We believe that we really do have the best people to fish with that you could possibly ask for and we appreciate them all!!! So get ready to take a long look at "what's been happening" here, out of Leeville, Louisiana, with Capt. Tommy Martin and Martin Pro-Guide!!!
Give us a call ASAP to get your trip booked, it is still Spring and the summer fishing has not been touched. 985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431

Well, here we are already at the first of April and Spring is most definitely in the air with the fishing activity picking up daily. March has been windy and has made the fishing very difficult but it has still been somewhat productive. Winds will be dying down soon and seas will calm and then it's gonna be "Shame on you" if you don't get down here for some of the best salt water fishing in the world. It will be hot and heavy for at least the next 6 or 7 months for some amazing catches of Trout, Redfish, Cobia and Snapper and who knows what else. I promise the Gulf is full of surprises!!
I know one thing we do not want is anymore surprises like Cindy, Katrina and Rita. Believe me when I tell you that we are just beginning to really get back to anywhere near normal. It has been a long recovery and we still have things that are undone here, almost 7 months later. I guess it could have been worse but I don't know how!!!
I have lots of photos that I will be putting on the pictures page here in the next several days. It will be a re-cap of the past couple of months showing winter moving on into Spring. We truly are looking for an awesome Spring and Summer season of great Marsh, Coastal and Gulf fishing and are ready to hear that phone start to ring off the hook. Captain Martin has bought himself a nice new boat and he is ready to Rock-n-roll!!!!
A group of 4 med students fished with us yesterday and had a really nice time and catch!!! The weather was awesome! Check out the photos!!! Give us a call, it's time to make your reservations!! 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266 or you can e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices, etc.

Well, we got to do a good bit of marsh Redfishing just before Christmas with Jim Stotts and sons Ammon and Daniel. They had an awesome time catching their limits of Reds each day using live cockahoe minnows. I don't know how many pounds of filets they brought home but it was plenty. It was a great time for them and us with some good food and great Louisiana marsh fishing.
And as soon as we got home from our family Christmas celebration, in Baton Rouge, the Captain was on the internet checking out Gulf conditions. They must have been right cause he was up early and out the door headed for the rocks down from Fourchon. Fishing with artificial cockahoe minnows, it really didn't matter what color, the Captain and Jerry Westmoreland brought back a limit of beautiful 16 to 24 inch Trout.
The holidays are almost over and the fishing is getting really, really good right now so give us a call and get scheduled for your trip ASAP. Capt. Martin always has loved winter time fishing for Trout and Reds and has always had good sucess with some beautiful catches for this time of the year. CALL 985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431 or email us via Rodnreel for accommodations, prices and availability.
Check out the photos of these last two trips!!!! PLEASE BE SAFE AND HAVE A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!

Just before all the cold and windy weather set in, the Redfishing was really getting hot! And as soon as this wind settles some it will be good again. We have some great Redfishing pictures of Rhett Crain with his son, Brandon, Dick Woosley with his son, son-in-law and grandchildren. For a couple of days they were catching as many as 60 to 70 Reds a day using live cockahoes and tight lining. The fishing down here is coming back in an awesome way we just need the people to come back. Katrina and Rita really hurt the charter boat industry the past few months but we are positively looking for some great fishing to be happening this next year. Accommodations are a little harder to get but we can get them for you. So give us a call, January and February are two of Capt. Martins favorite months of the year to fish and has had good sucess both these months in years past for Redfish and Trout alike. You can go to our photo gallery and check out some of our January and February catches of the past. Yesterday was the Captain's first day back since Katrina and Rita. It has been a long haul and the storms had a very devastating effect on a lot of people in our fishing area. There was plenty of damage but it seems as if everyone is on their way back to recovery and that is our prayer for all that were so affected.
Fishing with the Captain yesterday were Rhett Crain, Troy Leblanc and sons. It was certainly a fun and exciting day for the kids anyway, catching them each a real nice bull red. Today's fishing was much, much better with a group from Capt. Bobby Bryan. They had so much Redfish action it was unreal. They played catch and release with 66 beautiful Redfish keeping only their limit of 20 fish. What an awesome way to start out this winter season.
Get your December reservations in now, people are itching to get their hooks in the water after such a long lull. Wintertime brings some fabulous fishing in the marshes of south Louisiana and the Captain loves fishing over these next three months and has had some extremely good catches in the months of December, January & February. Click on more info about Martin Pro-Guide, go to photo gallery and check out the photographs of some of last years cold weather catches.
Give us a call ASAP, we are ready for some catch-up and jam-up fishing. 985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431 or you can contact us by e-mail via rodnreel for prices and availability.

Beautiful Trout, Mangrove Snapper and Cobia are what's going on here, right now, with Martin Pro-Guide. It has been an awesome summer but it can't get anything but better from here on out. Capt. Martin is so excited about summer coming to a close and the fall season start up, knowing this heat has to give way, soon, to more comfortable weather and the fact that the fishing is just particularly more enjoyable for everyone this time of the year. Everything seems to come alive again with the stress of the heat lessening on all the environment, plants, fish and animals alike, not to mention us humans!! It is just all around a more pleasant time of the year with some of the same feelings that everyone and everything gets when the season changes from winter to spring. But in the fall you have such excitement as football, all types of hunting, fishing, holidays with lots of thanksgiving get togethers with family and friends, the wonderful celebration of Christ-mas and then of course, climaxing with the joy and excitement of a New Year. It truly is an awesome time of the year!
This past week was a good one for the Young family, Marlene Peoples, Preston Ware, the David Smith trio and the Willcutt group. Everyone has had a great time catching many beautiful size speckled trout, especially for this time of the year, lots of gorgeous Mangrove
Snapper and a Cobia or two. But now is the time to get your reservations in for the new season. Call us ASAP for prices, accommodations and availability. Remember the early bird gets the worm, so for the best dates and times call ahead as far in advance as possible. 985-325-4266 or 225-413-1431 or email us via Rodnreel. Now, enjoy a few pics of our latest charter groups and their catch!

All the fishing has still been awesome in spite of the heat, you just have to get the early hit and head for home. But you know, every trip seems to be a good one whether you load the boat or not. I myself went on a trip, last week, to the rigs with the Captain and our oldest grandson, Ryan. We didn't catch a whole lot of fish but it was an awesome time for me. Ryan has been fishing with me and his Paw Paw since he was old enough to go in the boat, probably just a couple of years old, and now he is nineteen and is fixing to begin his second year at UNC Charlotte. We are so very proud of him and enjoyed, so much, having him all to ourselves again. You know there is just nothing like getting out on the water with your friends, family, kids or grandkids for some fun, fishing and relaxation. If you should happen to catch a bunch of fish, which happens quite a lot of the time, that just puts the iceing on the cake.
These past several weeks have been some of the hardest of the year as far as the heat and things that had to be dealt with behind the scenes but the Captain is getting strong again after a bad bout with the heat that got him down for more than a few days. Things may try to get him down at times, but I promise you, he is never out!!! He is doing well now and is more than ready to get back into the swing of things!!
I have quite a few photos of some of our recent trips that show what has been going on here at Martin Pro-Guide. And just a reminder here, that it's time to get your fall trips scheduled if you want to get the dates you need. We are so looking forward to cooler weather, as everyone, and are predicting an awesome fall and winter season for some exceptional fishing and we are expecting the catches to be even better and more beautiful than they have this summer, if that is possible. The Captain loves fishing this particular time of the year because the changes in weather make the fishing a whole new ballgame and believe me, he loves the challenge!!
Anyway, check out the fine people that have had a great time fishing the Louisiana Coast for past couple of weeks with us here at MARTIN PRO-GUIDE and CAPT. TOMMY MARTIN. ENJOY and MAY GOD BLESS US ALL!!!!

We have had great sucess the past couple of weeks with an extra long Trout season. Hot weather, and I mean it has been hot, has not chased the Trout away or the fishermen. But we are very grateful for the good trips our people have had with us here at Martin Pro-Guide. We had the Oufnac group, PCC Home Builders(16 people), Hugh Bridges, Jack Partridge, Greg Taylor, Al Coburn and the Kevin Norris group fish with us the past couple of weeks. I am slow sometimes at getting a report and pictures up. No excuses except for the fact that my house is Grand Central Station in the summer time and there is a whole lot going on with family, friends and customers. Believe it or not this is the first time in two weeks that I have been able to sit down at the computer BY MYSELF so I can think and get my work done. Not that I am complaining because we are very grateful that we do have a full life, it just overflows at times. Anyway, getting back to the fishing, it has been really superb, with most everyone catching their fish on live bait under a popping cork. Everyone has had a great time but so happy when the hot day is done and they can jump into a cold shower. Don't know how much longer the Trout fishing will hold out but it has been great up till now. Just yesterday the Kevin Norris group had a fantastic catch of specks and white Trout, somewhere between 80 and a 100 fish. Take a look at some of the photos of our most recent charter trips. I can not post them all with this report so be checking the pictures page for some more awesome catches our people have experienced fishing with us here, all the way down south, out of Leeville, Louisiana. Most all of these customers are from Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama.
I know August is a hot month but it can't be too much worse than what July has been. We have quite a few openings on our calender with some open on the weekend. So give us a call to get your trip set up for your awesome Louisiana Coastal fishing experience. I Had Bob and Bruce with Barstow Construction out of Kansas City, Mo. We started out at Philo Brice finding only small trout. Then we headed out to Timbalier to find a lot better water and trout. Most of our 65 trout came off a live shrimp under a Low Country Lightning cork. The rest we caught on a D.O.A. under the Low Country Lightning sliding cork. It seemed that the sliding cork set-up caught better quality fish. For more info on a Marsh/Coastal/Offshore trip call 985-325-4266.

Well, I'll be honest, it just blows my mind sometimes when our customers have the catches that they do. Ofcourse that's what we want, no doubt, it just boggles my mind at what great trips most of our charter people just seem to have. I suppose I have to give some credit to the Captains for getting the guys where the fish are but the people are the ones that do the catching. The Barsto Construction group had awesome catches all of the three days that they were here. The first day was a major mangrove
trip, the second and third they fished the bays for Trout and had two fantastic catches both these days. Check out the photos of yesterday and todays trip, they caught some really beautiful Trout and plenty of them. I would say that Capt. Martin and Capt. Mike Wilson did a good job and definitely made these four super guys with Barsto, happy, happy, happy!!! From the photos I could see that they caught most of these fish off the Speculizer and some popping corks but that is really all I could tell. Give us a call for your charter trip and get in on the action, that you can only have, here on the Louisiana Coast. 985-325-4266 or you can e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices, accommodations and availability!!
Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July weekend. And don't forget, we are celebrating the birth of the independence and freedom that we so abundantly enjoy here in this nation. Let's not take that for granted!! We definitely don't want another 9-11!! So lets wake up, America, and thank God for the blessings and freedoms that we do have in this country. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

The Mangrove Snapper fishing has been awesome! And we are starting to pick up a nice Cobia or two, here and there, around the rigs. The Al Coburn, Livingston Parish group of eight, went out on Saturday with Capt. Tommy Martin and Captain Gary Harp. It was an exremely exciting and profitable day, no doubt! They had a most phenomenal catch of Mangrove
Snapper and one beautiful Cobia. Both boats had their limit by 12:00 noon off the first rig that they hit early that morning.
Monday the Barsto group had another fine Mangrove catch, as well. We enjoyed this group on Monday night for a Shrimp boil at our home in Galliano. I believe a couple of the guys are from the Kansas City area and one from Washington, DC, so they came a long way for some fantastic Gulf of Mexico fishing and to eat some good ole Louisiana seafood. They are back out today in the bays and marshes, trying their hand at some Trout and Redfishing. I hope their luck is as good as yesterday's!
Anyway, the Mangrove fishing is definitely happening with seas plenty calm enough to make the fishing enjoyable. The weather is hot but sometimes when you are Snapper and Cobia fishing you can hook up on the shady side of the rig and it's not too uncomfortable. In any event, try to get you and your group a summer trip lined up before hurricane season so you don't miss out on any of the fun, food, and all the fishing excitement and action that you can get, only on the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Give us a call!!!985-325-4266....We have great Captain's and promise that you will have an awesome time!!!!
Check out the photos of all these guys and the fun and excitement they have had the last couple of days!

Although the 21st of this month was the first day of summer, all of June has been unseasonably hot. The fishing has been good and everyone has been having a great time in spite of the heat. The Captain's like to try to get the early hit and come on in by the hottest part of the day if at all possible. It's easier on everyone that way. We have been unusually busy this summer season. It seems a though so many more people are taking advantage of charter fishing due to all that is really involved with all the preparation, equipment needed, the right bait, location of the fish, the expense and last but not least the how to of catching fish. It is just easier to show up, let the Captain's do the work, have a good time and go home with your fish cleaned and ready for the frying pan or the freezer.
Some beautiful Trout are still being caught and the offshore fishing is getting better by the day. We have some great photos of what's been caught this past week or so here with Martin Pro-Guide. Our customers have had an awesome time catching Trout, Redfish, Cobia, Mangrove Snapper and enjoying the whole experience of fishing Coastal Louisiana.
We fish with some really great people and we do appreciate all that choose to fish with us. Give us a call at 985-325-4266 or e-mail us via Rodnreed for future dates that we have available, prices and accommodations. Make plans soon for your trip to the Louisiana Gulf Coast for some of the finest fishing imaginable! Have a great, safe summer weekend!!

It was a nice time for the Robert Anderson family, with wife Lynn and the two children Logan and London. Fishing mostly the Speculizer with live minnows, there was plenty of excitement and action for everyone. They fished one afternoon in the marshes catching a few Reds and the next day in the bays having a hey day with the Trout. The kids had an excellent time and it seemed to be a really fun trip for everyone. We love to see families come together like that enjoying the great outdoors, it is most definitely a healthy activity that the whole family can enjoy. The next day we had Rick Summers with son, Chris, and grandson Brendan. Conditions changed considerably from the day before and it was just not as good a trip for Rick and the boys as we had hoped. Unfortunately there is not one thing we can do about the changes that do occur. Maybe we can get them back on a better day!
We have a big Friday and Saturday coming up, guiding for the ABC Tournament. We are hoping that the weather will hold out and everyone will have a great time. Thunderstorms are brewing up mostly in the afternoon and we hope it will stay that way so everyone can get in a couple of good days of tournament fishing.
We are very busy right now but give us a call, we still have a lot of summer dates open and fall has hardly been touched. Call 985-325-4266 or e-mail via Rodnreel for prices, date an accommodation availability.
Check out the photos of the Anderson family, Chris and Brendan! Hope everyone has a great day & God Bless!!!

Well, I had a really good report all typed in today just ready to put up the photos of our last charter and "wham!" the power went off and stayed off until 9:00 p.m., and everything I had typed in was gone! It's late and I will try again to give you a run down on Thursday and Friday's fishing.
We had the Jim Stotts, Barsto Construction, group with us and it was a jam up day for their first day of fishing. With Capt. Tommy Martin and Capt. Chad Davis this awesome group, quickly, I mean by mid-morning had 200 Speckled Trout and 40 Whites in the boat. It was defintely fun and exciting! Their second day was quite a bit different with the threat of bad weather and strong winds. The captains decided to, well, more or less forced to, move from the bays where they were fishing the day before and move more into the marshes. They had an excellent catch considering, with about 30 Trout, a dozen or so reds and some nice Sheepshead. Most everything, as usual, was caught with Dudleys or the Speculizer.
Mr. Jim has been fishing with us for several years now, and we always have a great time fishing and feeding his groups. We had a nice Shrimp spegetti dinner the first night with some old fashioned banana pudding and a Seafood boil the second with some home-made chocolate iced cake. I totally enjoy cooking for these guys, they seem to appreciate it so much. Being they are all from the Kansas City, Missouri area, they seem to extremely appreciate some good old southern cajun type cooking.
They had planned to fish another day but due to weather conditions they decided not and made a short visit to New Orleans on Saturday for some Beniets at Cafe'Du Monde before catching their plane late that afternoon. Not only that, they were pretty exhausted! It was a great time for us, and we certainly hope for them, and we truly enjoyed having them at our home in Galliano.
Here are a few photos of their fun, exciting, and a little exhausting trip to the Louisiana Gulf Coast, for all that their hearts desired. Thanks, Jim, and we will be looking forward to the next time.
Give us a call ASAP for your charter trip!...985-325-4266..We promise you a lot of fishing, fun and excitment!! And try to make your plans as far in advance as possible!! We still have plenty of summer dates!
A special thanks to Capt. Chad Davis who did a real good job for us!! God Bless and may the fishing be great for everyone!!

Charlie Atwood and Ron Patterson had a fine Sunday morning trip putting 75 Trout in the boat by 11:45 that morning. They also had a lot of fun and excitement with catching and releasing some beautiful Bull Reds. Some of the Trout were caught by tight-lining with live shrimp but most were caught on the avacoda colored Deadly Dudley. The James Lambert group had a good day but had more luck with Redfish. They put 12 in the boat plus a couple of Black Drum. Most of these fish were caught with a minnow under a Speculizer. They took a day break and are out fishing again today and we are hoping they will get into some Trout, as well.
We still have a lot of summer ahead so give us that call for your trip ASAP. We are lining up trips as far as December, right now, so it is imperative that you call as far in advance as possible to get the dates that you would like. 985-325-4266

It was a really fun two days for the Gorden Dendy group from Olive Branch, Mississippi. The first day they hung into a big variety of fish, Mackerel, some nice Sheepshead, Channel Mullet, Drum, a Shark, a pompano and some real pretty Trout. It was quite and experience for these guys to actually see and catch some many different kinds of fish. The second day was equally exciting but their catch was almost all Trout, about 80 or so, not a bad day that's for sure. They were a super nice group of guys and they plan to come back in February for some more great fishing in the winter. Sorry that I don't always get the where's and what's on the catches, we have been very, very busy and we just don't get to communicate everything. I don't have all the guys names even though I tried to contact them back but to no avail.
Check out the photos of the Gorden Dendy guys and the fun they had fishing the bays of Louisiana Gulf Coast.

Bobby Cleveland with the Clarion Ledger, Keith Partridge, Partridge Door Company, both out of Jackson, Mississippi just had themselves a Trout fishing extravaganza!!!!Bobby and Keith put 28 or 29 of some the biggest Trout in the boat caught this season. The Carey Howard guys with Redstick Armature had a good day not catching any big numbers of Trout but had a great time. Robbie Gill and Bradley Rhorer, both attorneys from the Baton Rouge, Denham Springs area and their group caught numbers of Trout(150)and were done early in the day. Everyone got in on some fantastic Trout fishing before all the wind and rain hit the area. But the Trout fishing will be just as good as soon as conditions get back to normal, whatever that is, it seems that everyday is different. I believe all the big Trout were caught mostly on the Dudley and the numbers of Trout on the Speculizer. Anyway it was three fun and exciting days for Trout fishing Coastal Louisiana.
We enjoyed a nice dinner out with Bobby and Keith on Wednesday night at Seasoned Seafood in Larose, just dissapointed that they were out of boiled crabs. We talked a lot about food, a favorite past time for us Southeners, and I even tried one of Keith's favorite, fried egg and home grown tomato sandwich the next day. It was awesome!! We appreciate Bobby Cleveland so much for all the fine articles that he has written in the Jackson paper about his trips with Capt. Martin and attribute a lot of our sucess with all our great Mississippi people to his writings and radio interviews with the Captain. Many Thanks, Bobby, we truly appreciate you!!!
Check out the photos of Bobby and Keith. Even though one of the photos has a lot of glare you can still get an idea of the size of these Trout. The Gill/Rhorer group just had a great time and are a super-looking group!!!!For some reason we only got one shot of one guy in the Carey Howard group, sorry!
Their is still so much time ahead of us for some great summer fishing but you need to get your reservations now, as far in advance as possible. People have no idea of what all it takes to put some of these trips together especially this time of the year when all our guides are busy and accommodations fill up quick but we can do it if you can give us just a little time.

We had the pleasure of having Mr. Lester Sheppard and fishing buddies, Robert and Greg this past weekend. They are Texas guys and were also a pleasure to fish with. Their first day was pretty tough fishing with the winds and all but ended the day with 9 Redfish, a Trout and 1 Sheepshead. Believe it or not all were caught on topwater. Their second day was totally different, it was hot, no wind, not until around 11:00 anyway, but the Trout were on and they put 75 to 80 really nice fish in the boat. I'm not sure exactly where they were fishing but somewhere out a good way past Northwest Island. It was a fun day, even I got to fish with friends, but I was ready to head to the house by noon for some AC.
This spring and summer season has started off with a bang and we have a lot coming up. Captain Martin has taken just about all the charters he can handle for June but we have some other good Captains that we can hook you up with.
July usually gets really good for offshore rig fishing, it's fairly hot but you can generally get on the shady side of the rigs to cool off. The Mangrove Snapper fishing, Lemon fish, Red Snapper, Grouper, big Reds and no telling what else can be caught when seas are calm enough to make the trip.
Give us a call ASAP and get your trip arranged. We need you to book as far ahead in advance as possible in order to get a guide or guides and in order to get the dates and accommodations that you need. I can't express enough how important that is!!!! 985-325-4266

Our last few charters were pretty fair ones considering the fact that conditions were definitely not as predicted. It was a lot tougher fishing, for sure, than several days before for the Sistrunk group, Jack Partridge, Marlene Peoples and Preston Ware. Jack and Mickey probably had the best catch being that they only fished a couple of hours on Sunday morning. The Trout that everyone caught were very nice size Trout though. Capt. Martin didn't say but it looks as if they mostly caught their fish on the Speculizer with a cockahoe minnow whereas last week they were catching everything on Dudleys.
Take a peek at some of the fun and beautiful fish that were caught by these last few parties.
Get your reservations in ASAP as the summer is steady booking. 985-325-4266 CAPT. TOMMY MARTIN

It was another good catch of Trout for the Lard charter but just a tad bit harder to come by than the day before. Everyday is different that's for sure! They ended their second charter day of fishing with 51 Trout, a couple of nice Reds and I think Tim caught a small Sting Ray. That's part of the excitement, not knowing what is ever going to be at the end of your line.
We are thankful to our charterers for choosing to fish with us. I promise the Captain works extremely hard to give you the best of what the Gulf coastal marshes, bays and offshore Louisiana fishing has to offer and is very good at his profession. He's always said he was THE BEST and that's the only thing he's never lied about. Laying all jokes aside he's a great guy, one of a kind and knows his fishing. You will have the time of your life spending the day on the water with him.
Take a look at what Steve Lard, George Lard and Tim Sweeney did on their second day of fishing with Martin Pro-Guide and Capt. Tommy Martin!!!

Trout, Trout and more Trout for Tim Sweeney, Steve Lard and his Dad, George Lard. They had a great time and complimented the Captain saying it was the best trip they ever had. It's just a great thing for us and the people that charter with us to catch fish and have a lot of fun doing it. There was no lack in action for these guys, catching all fish on the Dudley, no doubt, Captain Martin's favorite all around bait. These were really nice fish too, as you will see. Anyway it was a terrific day, a much warmer day and just an all around good day for fishing the awesome bays along the beautiful coast of Louisiana.

Capt. Martin came home today with a huge grin on his face and two ice bags full of Trout filets. The warmer 80 degree plus weather and calm winds is just what he's been waiting on to be able to fish the bays properly and for the Trout to really turn on. He knew that as soon as the weather broke from all the wind that it was going to be shame on the Trout. Good condtions inshore and offshore are predicted for the next 10 days and no more than a 30% chance of rain any day. The Captain and Richard Covington, a friend that lives in Leeville, just went out so the Captain could do some scouting before his charters coming up the rest of the week. And trust me, they had a blast, catching all their fish on the smoke colored Dudley.
The Trout fishing is going to be good for quite some time now and everyone needs to make plans ASAP for their charter trip. 985-325-4266 CALL SOON!! CAPT. TOMMY MARTIN

Well, it is finally a calmer day down in Southern Louisiana. It has been so hard for our Marsh, Coastal and offshore guides to contend with the winds and the rough seas. And I promise you, it has been windy, the worst I have ever seen down here this long. Even though it's been tough some of the guides have managed to catch some fish in spite of the conditions. There are quite a few guides out on charters today and I am very anxious to see how this calmer weather effects the fishing because this is the kind of day that they have all been waiting for.
Here at Martin Pro-Guide we have been very fortunate to have the catches that we have had. Most all of the photos I have been putting up recently come from March and April fishing in some beautiful but very windy weather. We have had a few storms intermittently but they have come and gone quickly. Not only all this but it has been unseasonaly cool for this time of the year.
But I promise you all this will pass and we will be having some awesome days on the water. The fishing can't do anything but improve from here. And it is positively our desire to give our customers the best fishing experiences of their lives.
Summer is just around the corner and everyone needs to be planning ahead and making their reservations early so they can get the dates and accommodations that they need. Right now it would be wise to try to get your trip set up at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance. We are expecting to be extremely busy this year and don't want anyone to miss out. So give us a call at 985-325-4266 or e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices and availablity.
Here are a few more photos of some of our March and April charters! Enjoy!!!!!

Things are definitely picking up here at Martin Pro-Guide. It has been extremely difficult working around this crazy, windy weather we have been having down south for the past six weeks. February was an awesome month for our charters and we have had some real nice catches on some of the better days in March and April. And in spite of less than ideal conditions almost everyone has caught some fish even on the worst of days. But I believe the fishing should only get better from here. We have recently started to get some limits of Trout, nice Trout, using the Dudley, any color and Topwater, such as Topdawg Jr. These fish are being caught in and around the bays on the days that we have been able to fish them, which has not been that many yet. It has either been too rough, too muddy or both. But as the weather improves I promise you that just shortly, the fishing is going to take off like wild fire in the bays, along the coastline and close offshore for Trout, Redfish, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper and Ling(Lemon fish). So get your summer fishing trip booked now so you don't miss out on some of the finest fishing you could ever experience! It is imperative that you book ahead in order to get the dates and accommodations that you need.
I want to apologize to everyone that frequents our site for not reporting the last couple of months. I am going to put up quite a few photo's from the past couple of weeks then go back and catch up for the people that fished with us before then. We have just been extremly busy and distracted with many other things. So I will be putting a lot of March and April photos on the pictures page of Rodnreel in the next several days so be looking out for yours.
We are getting many bookings right now through July, so please, if you are planning a trip call as soon as possible (225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266)or e-mail via Rodnreel for prices and availability. We don't want anyone to miss out on the awesome Spring and Summer fishing that's ahead of us.
Check out the great photo's from our charters the past couple of weeks!!!

Alfred Pittman, Bill Reed, Steven Stoker and Chris Keenum, all Mississippi guys, finished up their three day trip with a bang. They weren't quite sure that they really wanted to go that third day since it was a pretty good chance of rain and the fact that they already had two great days of fishing and were pretty beat. But they did decide to go and it was just as good as the previous two days. They forgot how tired they were and put the hurt on the fish one more time, ending their third day, with 98 speckled Trout and 10 Redfish, again caught on all artificial lures, mostly Deadly Dudley's, at Capt. Martin's hotspot at the rocks at E. Timberlier.
Since Thursday the weather has not been too good and today is really overcast and a little breezy but the Captain and a few guys decided to give the fishing a try, I suppose in the marsh. I am anxious to see what today produces with these conditions. We have some pretty weather coming but it is not predicted to be as warm as some of the days we have had in February. Surely, warmer weather IS on it's way and everyone will be trying to get down here at one time.
Give us a call, now, if you want to get your best dates. We start to have a little problem getting people the dates and accommodations that they need for the early spring and early summer months due to spring fishing fever! So don't procrastinate!!! Three more guys from Mississippi got in on all the action that's been happening at the E. Timberlier rocks the past several days. Rudy Polk, Hugh Bridges and Royce Bridges got their arms jerked plenty fishing the Deadly Dudley, any color, coming up just four shy of their limit of Speckled Trout, a bunch of Reds and a boat load of Sheepsheed(Bay Snapper). They made a day of it, and a good one it was, and headed on back for the great state of Mississippi. We appreciate all the fine Mississippi folk that charter with us, they definitely keep us on the move.

Between fishing all the Mississippi guys we had a group from Alabama get in on some marsh fishing action. It was just a little too rough to get them out to the coast last Friday and Saturday. Kevin Norris, Harvey Gaston, Kenneth Smith and Bill Rogers spent two days with us in the marshes and bayous around Leeville. They had a really good time but we sure wish we could have got them in on all the action thats been happening at the rocks E. Timberlier. I don't have the numbers of Reds that they caught but it looks as if they had some real good Redfish action.
So whether you want to marsh fish for some beautiful Reds, the shoreline for Trout or offshore for Mangrove Snapper we can get you where you want to go. Just give us a call ASAP, we are already taking bookings for March, April, May and June. It is a must that you plan early for the Spring and Summer season. Call today! 985-325-4266

I have never seen the Captain come in the door quite as excited as I did yesterday. He came in talking non-stop about, in his mind, the catch of the century. I understood totally when I took a look at the pictures. This catch of Trout was an absolutely awesome show of what it is to literally load the boat with fish. The Alfred Pittman Mississippi bunch, scheduled their Trout fishing trip at just the precise time. Fishing the rocks along the shoreline at E. Timberlier with nothing but artificial lures(Deadly Dudley)they consistantly had four on at the time working the Captain hard to keep them chunking as fast and hard as they could. In 59 minutes, that is what the Captain said, they had their limit of 125 beautiful Speckled Trout. They filled the big icechest quickly and then they just put them in the bottom of boat they were catching them so fast. This same area is loaded with big Redfish and close is an area loaded with hundreds of nice, chunky sheepshead. It was a day to remember, no doubt, for the Captain and this Mississippi crew.
Capt. Tommy and Capt. Mike Wilson went out today with the same group yesterday and three more Mississippi guys, the Hugh Bridges party, coming in today with 96 Trout in one boat and 121 in the other. I would have loved being a little mouse in these two boats and heard all the hoorah! I know Captain Martin gets beside himself and will make you as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof! But fun none the less! How can it not be a great time when you are in so much action that you hardly know what to do next???
Well, I'll tell you this February warm snap with calm seas has blown the shoreline Trout fishing wide open. It looks as if the weather is going to go downhill for the next several days but you never know and if Capt. Martin can get to his hot spot, I promise you will see him there!
I have a few photos of yesterdays Trout catch but have many more photos of all these Mississippi guys with some big Reds and a boat load of sheepshead that I will be putting on the pictures page of Rodnreel in the next couple of days. Boy, all this fishing is keeping me busy!!!
Don't forget to make that phone call to get YOUR charter trip scheduled ASAP. Call for prices, availablility, accommodations, etc. 985-325-4266 and talk to Brenda!

There has been a lot of fishing going on here at Martin Pro-Guide with our top notch guides,Capt. Tommy Martin, Capt. Gary Harp and Capt. Mike Wilson. We are definitely getting an overflow of charters for this time of the year for which we are extremely grateful. The marsh and coastal fishing has had it's peaks and valleys but generally the fishing has been very good in spite of weather conditions changing almost daily.
A couple of days ago we were priviledged to have fishing with us Daniel Guettler, Scott Walters and Bobby Haddock, three very nice Florida guys. It was their first trip with us and I think it was a real experience for them, they indicated to us that they had a really good time and would definitely be back. They fished the marshes both days and got in on some pretty good Redfish action. It was a little slow but they went home anything but empty handed. These guys were a real pleasure and we look forward to their return.
As I said, we are booking a lot of trips early this year so it is imperative that you book early to assure that you can get the dates that you would like. We expect a really busy Spring and summer season so call or e-mail us via Rodnreel ASAP for prices, available dates, accommodations, etc. 985-325-4266
Click on the camera icon below and check out the guys from Florida then go to the pictures page of Rodnreel for more photos of the Ricky Ray, Craig Stoker, Syngenta party trip. Everyone has been having a great time and catching fish!!!!And that's what we are all about!!!

It's the middle of February and we have had a more than a few really good days for fishing. The weather has been unseasonaly warm some days but we have still been having to contend with the wind and these cool fronts. We have had some very good catches and some not quite as good due to these ever changing conditions that occur, particularly this time of the year, but we are still catching fish.
We had 7 guys with the Syngenta group from Missouri with us the latter part of last week for 3 days, fishing the marsh, the coastline and l day offshore. They mostly caught Redfish in the marshes and some beautiful Mangrove Snapper and Bull Reds, rig fishing offshore. These are a great group of guys who have fished with us quite a few times now. They had a good trip and took home a load of filleted fish. I have a lot of pictures of these guys with their awesome catches and the fun they had fishing the Louisiana Coast so click "pictures" on Rodnreel and check them out. A special thanks to Ricky Ray and Craig Stoker for choosing Martin Pro-Guide for their Louisana Coastal fishing experience.
We are taking a lot of bookings right now and are expecting a really busy season so get your reservations in at least several weeks in advance so you don't miss out. We also have several boats available so we can accommodate large parties. Give us a call ASAP! 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266

The Trout fishing, mixed with lots of Redfish, is still awesome along the Coast at E.Timberlier. The Captain said he got lost in the extreme fog after motoring out of Belle Passe. But once they got where they were going, around 8:30 this morning, the action was definitely on. The Captain, Jerry Westmoreland, Ralph Lieux and Guice Giambrone put 93 beautiful Trout in the boat by 11:30. They mostly fished the Deadly Dudley of various colors but did catch some Trout off the Speculizer. The Speck fishing has been fantastic for a couple of months now and should hold out through June and July. Ofcourse at this time of year you have catch the Gulf on the days that seas are fairly calm with some sun to warm the rocks which brings the fish closer to the surface. You just couldn't ask for any better fishing conditions than what we had today for catching these fine Trout. Be sure to check out the photo of TODAY'S CATCH!
We are coming into our busiest season and already booking for Spring so it is a must that you make reservations as far ahead as you possibly can. So give us a call ASAP. 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266

More SPECTACULAR SPECKLED TROUT along the shoreline in the rocks at E. Timberlier. It's tough fishing and you had better know what you are doing when you go into this area, not only for maneuvering around, but on the how to's of fishing this area, because both are extremely tricky. It is unbelieveable the number of fish that have been caught out there in the past several weeks. It has truly been phenomenal. We also have had lots of beautiful Redfish caught mingled in with the Trout. We have been using only artificial bait, such as the Deadly Dudley, cockahoe minnows, wrobble-rite and even spinner baits but the trick, like I said, is how to fish them. And not only all that but the seas have to be calm enough to be able to fish this area.
If people don't believe that winter fishing for Trout and Redfish is not good just take a look at a few photos of what has been caught just in the last week of decent weather for fishing this area. And give us a call, fishing is good here anytime of the year whether you fish along the coast, offshore or in the marsh. 225-413-1431, 985-325-4266 or e-mail us via Rodnreel for availability and prices.

It's HOT, HOT, HOT!!!The Trout fishing that is! Big Trout are still being caught in large numbers along the coastline out from Belle Passe. Today was the first day in several days that we were able to fish this area due to rough seas. The Redfish, big Redfish, were so plentiful that we were wading through them to get to the Trout. We did a lot of catch and release on the Redfish. The Trout and the Redfish were hitting just about any color Dudley, it didn't really matter, chartruese, avocada, purple/gold, salt/pepper, whatever! It was an awesome day of fishing for myself and good buddie, Jerry Westmoreland.
It's definitly time to be booking a trip with winter prices still in effect. This Saturday and Sunday are available due to a cancellation and this time of the year we can book you on pretty short notice. So give us a call ASAP to get in on some of the finest Trout and Redfishing you can imagine. 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266 or you can e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices and availability.

It was another exceptional day of Trout and Redfishing the Coast of Louisiana. The Captain, Bobby Cleveland with the Clarion Leger and Sid Montgomery, good friend of Bobby, had an all out good day catching a load of beautiful Trout and Redfish along the Coast, out of Fourchon. The fish were hitting everything, Dudley's, the gold Wobble-rite and even Spinner baits. The fishing out there has been phenomenal the past several weeks and is expected to stay good for a while as long as seas permit you to get out. However, the marsh fishing has been great, as well, when we are unable to get out along the coast. Click on more info about Martin Pro-Guide, go to the photo gallery and check out all the winter catches up to this point. Now is a great time to book a trip and still get in on our winter rates. Give us a call ASAP and let us get you set up. 225-413-1431 or 985-325-4266 or e-mail us via Rodnreel for prices and availability.

Just a quick report on yesterdays trip for the Captain and good friend, Jerry Westmoreland. It was an absolutly perfect day to fish the coastline for Trout and Redfish. Bait of the day was the Dudley, salt and pepper/chartreuse tail. They had doubles on all morning long, catching their limit by 11:15. Coastal Trout fishing, mixed with BIG Redfish, is so HOT right now it is unbelievable. Looks like cold weather and windy conditions in the forecast will most likely push us back in the marshes but fishing has been exceptional there as well. We will have a report tomorrow on the Captains trip today with Bobby Cleveland and Sid Montgomery. I'll bet it was a good one!!!!
Give us a call and get your trip lined up ASAP. 225-413-1431, 985-325-4266
