Santa Claus came early and he delivered his goodies directly from the Sulpur Mines yesterday. Our first trip to this area and it will not be our last! Chartering his sleigh was Captain Chad Billiot of Marsh Rat Fishing Guide Service. Chad put on us the fish around 7:00 A.M and by 10:00 A.M., our 94 quart ice chest was overflowing with monster trout, big reds, and black drum. On to the ice chest number 2 to hold our limits reached by 10:30 A.M. The fish were thick as gumbo and we caught them non stop from start to finish. What a treat to take a 5 minute boat ride from the launch and experience non-stop action. Thanks Santa and Captain Chad-Merry Christmas from your crew from Baton Rouge, we truly enjoyed our early gifts!!!

I went out with Chad Guilliot for the 2nd time since May. The first time was with some buddies from church. we had such a great time, I booked a trip with the kids, Alex, 15 Holly 13, and Austin 10 (It was his birthday) We limited out again. This time on 2-5# trout and 5 and 1/2 reds (one got eaten by a 6 ft shark before out eyes. ) We were also catching some spainish mackeral. Everytime the line was cut we turned around and Chad had another pole ready to go. We were catching off of E. Timberlier using live croakers. It was a trip the kids will talk about for the rest of their lives. We thank Chad for a great time.

I was wondering If any other guide out there has received this reqeust from a customer in Canada. I am familiar with a couple other types of scams to rip off charters. I responded back to him, of course I am already booked, so I will see what will turm from here.. The Marshrat.
Hello Chad, Thanks for the quick response to my email.I and my family(wife and son)will be like to book for 3 days starting from the 14th-17th of june. My travelling agent will make arrangement for where we will be staying.I will be including my travelling agents fee alongside yours when sending payment to you so all you need do is send him is own money the moment you get payment, the reason for this is simply because my company said they will only issue payment for 1 person. This is my first time of taking my family on a fishing charter,so I want it to be a memorable one for them.Hoping to hear from you soonest. Regards, Mark Bill

Leeville Fishing Report: I have been quite busy chasing shaka heads & Cajun Bonefish with everything from Top Dogs to Flyrods the last few weeks. My clienst have been enjoying an array of adventures on the water. This week the trout action really turned on, we have been having a blast on Top Dogs & Mirror Minnows along the bigger bays around Leeville. We pulled out the camera yesterday to film the Outdoor Kitchen Show, highlighting the hot action along leeville this week. Tune in this weekend's show to see first hand just how fast and furious it really has been.

Leeville & Golden Meadow Fishing Report: The water has never really droped down to exteme colds, which has kept the trout action still shallow. In most areas the speck bite has been center in depths less than 4ft. Popping corks with a Chatrurese Curly Tail Grub has worked great from Leeville to Catfish Lake and the Sulfur Mine. Swimming a Sea Shad in Purple Canary in stained water and Opening Nights in clear water on a 1/4oz jigs has been my best to weapons. We've been working the ledges in 2 to 4 feet of water producing lots of really beautiful fish. A new weapon by Mirror Lure that has been a hot bait around Catfish Lake & the Sulfur Mine in depths less the 3ft is the Mirror Minnow in natural shinner and minnow colors. It works like a suspending jerkbait only lipless and smaller than most. This weeks weather should probuce alot of bigger trout from the Sulfur Mine to Catfish Lake. The Top Dog action will be hot on all flats.

Fishing Report: The cold, then hot, and basically warm, has sent us into many different pitches for locating trout and Cajun Bonefish. But warmer weather just means catching fish Period. Last two weeks trout have moved alittle more shallow and yes the Top Dog bite has definately picked up. Trout have been chasing the mullets in depths of less than 12in of water, which make for perfect walking the dog action. The She Dog in Blck/Chart has been working great around the Sulfur Mine and Catfish Lake. We've also been swimming Sea Shad's in Morning Glory and opening night from depths of 4 to 6 feet picking up very good trout. Site fishing Cajun Bonefish fish has been red hot on Fly, catching most of our reds on small crab patterns. This week coming should be just as great for catcing both specks and reds alittle more shallow as they look for bait.

Leeville Fishing Report: This past week the warmer weather had us searching off of the canals and channals around the bays north of Leeville and near Catfish Lake. Still working the Pogeaux Pops with a Assassin Curly Tail grub in Chartruese. The cold spell setting in should send all the fish trout and refish back deep into deadends and deep holes like the sulfur mine. Watch the temp and work the suspending fish with either a 1/4oz jighead or a popping cork with a 2 ft leader. As the winds settle down we are still site fishing big "Cajun Bonefish" on Fly off the bays feeding along the shallow shoreline and oyster beds. Crab patterns are working the best along with big seducers for shallow site fishing.

Leeville Fishing Report: The wind had us blowing around this morning around Golden Meadow. Our first three stops were our most productive we manage to catch some trout around most of the canals in an near Catfish Lake. All our fish were caught in depths ranging from 2 to 5 feet of water. The technique has not change I am still working a Pogeaux Pop Cork rigged with a 2ft leader to a StinagMaJig Hook and a Assassin CurlyTail Grub, popping hard and letting it sit. The next few day should get even better as the cold air moves in and confines the trout in deeper canals and deadends.

Leeville Fishing Report: The great weather has meade for excellent fishing out in Leeville. Its has also made for excellent Gnat conditions, but the Leeville saying is "If the Gnats are Bitting So are the Fish". Well this is correct the trout action has greatly improved with the weather. The west side of Leeville has trout showing up nearly everywhere, the weather is still warm, so look for the trout to be just on the edge of the shallow ponds and bays opening to deeper water. They are feeding hard on the surface on shrimp & minnows passing. The best pattern still for catching and locating is a Pogeaux Pop cork fished with about a 18in leader tied to a Stingamajig Hook and a Curly Tail Chartruese Assassin grub. Just keep popping, make alot of noise, they'll do the rest. Redfish are plentifull over the oyster beds following low tides. I love locating these reds by Walking the Dog, a Top Dog that is, any chrome color works well. The lower tide makes it hard to throw anything else without losing baits. So just walk the dog and drag them out. Also most of your main points existing the oyster beds will hold reds at the end of losing tides, so a Pogeaux Pop with a live coccahoe is a sure thing for immediate hook ups, just like Mike and Jonathan yesterday can testify. They had a blast with their dads on Sunday catching "Cajun Bonefish" over the reefs. Check out a few of their pics.

We had alittle of a day tough Saturday locating a few trout with the winds blowing at a good 25knots along the east side of Leeville. Mr. Craig Bellot and business partner Mr.L J. Stuck out most of the morning and earlier afternoon as I ran around nearly every hole I could think of looking for a few trout. Most of the deeper deadends were holding trout, the problem it was small trout. I was determined that the bigger fish were still shallow along some ponds and shallower bayous, but most of them were really muddy thanks to the strong winds. We kept looking until we found the one honey hole, in about 2 to 3 feet of water in about a 1/4 mile stretch. Slow popping a Chart. Curly Tail Assassin Grub about 2ft under the Pogeaux Pop cork did the trick in locating and catching our fair share of speck that windy day. The warmer weather this week should keep the trout in about the same pattern until some really cold weather blows south. The Pogeaux Pop with a Chart. Grub always works to locate fish under these conditions, give it a try.

Leeville Fishing Report: Leeville is slowly coming back to status. Bobby rooms are all open for accomadations, but one which was completely destroyed for Katrina. The marina is in all working order except for campers and boat stalls. The boat launch is fully functional along with a parking lot. Live bait is stll alittle hard to come by in Leeville, but you can make some stops thru Golden Meadow at T-Pops or the Crab Shack for live minnow or market shrimp. The cool weather has pushed the trout and redfish into a fall pattern which should quickly liven things up from Leeville to Golden Meadow. This coming weekend stick with the Pogeaux Popping to still work for locating trout in open cuts along the marsh and possibly some deadend canals. Redfish will be easy to find on low tides around oyster reef banks and main points off of duck ponds.

Leeville Fishing Report: It's great to have Mike's site back up and running. Leeville is making it's come back, Bobby's Marina is slowly being rebuilt. The boat ramp in open for service, his rooms will be open for business Nov. 1. The bait shops are still cleaning out, but should open completely soon. Meanwhile, the fishing continues, the marsh is loaded with trout. The best technique is Pogeaux Popping the open cuts and main points with current. "Cajun Bonefish" are along all the oyster beds and duck ponds, on low tides get out on the edge and site cast to reds tailing the shoreline. East or West of Leeville or Golden Meadow the fishing is HOT, the weather is getting PERFECT.

The trout action is steady at the platforms from Timbalier Bay & West Timbalier and Brush. Lots of fish being caught on Silver Mullet & Opening Night Assassins. Bigger trout are eatting Live croakers & pogies around E Timbalier rocks & Belle Pass.

Leeville Fishing Report: Arlene passed just close enough to put a high tide along our coast leaving behind higher water and plenty of redfish. The past few trips I've had plenty of folks looking for the perfect opportunity to catch a boat load of "Cajun Bonefish". The action has been steady and fast. We've been working the shallow ponds with live coccahoes under a Pogeaux Pop cork. The trout action has picked up to red hot, just about as hot as the temps, along the beach and barrier islands. We've been doing great on Silver Mullet Assassins & Opening Night fished on 1/4oz Assassin Jigheads off the beach and along some of the closer rigs.

Leeville Fishing Report: The action is steady and strong along all the inner island around Leeville and to the coast. The pattern is as simple as two word for me MirroLure and Bassassins. The past couple weeks we've been working all the shallow island and working the edge of the beach finding schools of trout heading for thier spawning grounds. Which makes walking the TopDog a perfect choice for not just catching, but locating the fish. Once we've located them and the action slows alitte, switching to a Assassin Silver Mullet in a 5inch twitching bait has kept our action steady throughout the day. The next couple weeks will just offer more of the same with the action becoming really hot with the weather.

Leeville Fishing Report: The action is steady in the marsh on limits of redfish coming out and coming in. The south winds and rising tides are returning redfish to the inner marsh. And the warm weather is priming the trout up to head south for the upcoming spawning season along the coast. Locating redfish is simply fishing main points off oyster beds or anchoring your mudstick on current ripping points entering duck ponds. Rig up a Pogeaux Pop cork with a 1/8oz Shrimpaler Hook rigged with a Sea Shad in PearlnChartruese and make alittle noise. This is more than effective in finding the specks leaving the marsh heading into oyster beds south.

Leeville Fishing Report: The action has been red hot on East Timbalier just as the NightOwl Capt. Darel Bryan said in his report earlier. We started the morning throwing jeckbaits catching specks and reds on most every spot we fished. By midmorning we we walking a Top Dog catching just as many trout & reds all over the rocks. The mullets are just begining to show up along the island, so the action is just heatting up.

Leeville Fishing Report: We made our run to East Timbalier today to work on some Assassin Trout along the many, many missing rocks. We worked both a Strawberry/White & Silver Mullet 5in Assassins in and around the submerged rocks. The bite was fast and furious catching both trout and "Cajun Bonefish" as the incoming tide brought cleaner water and bait along the rocks. The ground swells did make fishing for a couple from Missouri alittle tough, but for two die hards they handled it perfectly.

Leeville Fishing Report: The last few days we've been chasing the specks from deep holes and deadend canals back to the edge of the marsh. All of our specks being caught have bitten aggresively on Sea Shad Assassins in the Morning Glory. The technique is simple slow bouncing it on a 3/8 oz Assassin Jighead from depths of 10 to 15 feet with most fish suspended halfway down. Our Cajun Bonefish action is great chasing tailing fish on nearly all flats southeast of Leeville from Bay Jacque, Oaks Bay and Bay Rambo. The best technique has been site fishing with a Eel Assassin in Morning Glory with an 1/8oz Assassin Screw Lock hoook. Most reds are feeding in less than a foot of water on mullets and crabs, so site fishing has been extremely easy for Fly Fishing. The big trout action on Top Dogs is kicking into full swing around Catfish Lake and the Sulfur Mine good numbers of fish following mullets. The warmer weather has sent bait onto East Timbalier Island and set the trout action up for some serious Eel fishing.

Leeville Fishing Report: As the cold weather went back north the specks came back south out of the deeper holes. Our best techniques have been Sea Shad Assassins in Black/Chartruese rigged on a 1/4oz Jigheads. The best way to find the scattered trout is rigging Morning Glory Sea Shads 2 feet under a Pogeaux Pop cork and popping aggressively. Cajun Bonefish are thick everywhere on main points and flats coming out of the deeper water. The sulfur mine has been red hot and getting better for Top Dog action on all the near flats. On colder mornings work these same flats along the sulfur mine with a Catch 2000 from depths of 2 to 5 feet and hold on.

Leeville Fishing Report: The cold weather has finally set in to center most of our fishing into deadend canals. The inner marshes from Leeville to Golden Meadow will be prime fishing the next few days. Head for the treelined canals pointing north protected by any north wind. Slowly bounce a 1/4oz Sea Shad Assassin in Morning Glory off the bottom, it has been working great for catching limits of trout and reds all of this weekend. If a warmup comes in then add a Pogeaux Pop Cork about 18in above the Sea Shad and pop aggresively in depths of 3 to 5 feet. Most all opening or cuts coming out of the marsh off Bayou Blue heading north from Little Lake to Catfish Lake should still be stacking reds all week.

Leeville Fishing Report: The past few days south winds have kept the marsh nice and high giving us plenty of chances to catch trout all over the marsh. The shallow marshes are loaded with trout of varing sizes. However, here comes the next cold front which should change up a few things. The colder air should place most of these fish along the inner bays and close deadend canals north of Leeville and Golden Meadow. The Sulfur Mine north should be hot and heavy later this week with trout holding in depths of water from 5 to 15 feet. Best baits are as always been Sea Shads in Black/Chartreuse & Pearl/Chartruese and making alot of noise with a Pogeaux Pop rigged with a Pogeaux Shrimp about 2ft under.
The Cajun Bonefish action with a Fly has been great, seeing plenty of redfish along the banks chasing small shrimp and crabs. Site fishing the shoreline on low tides has been the working pattern and after this front more fish will be visiable. Best patterns Golden Eye Shrimp and Beter's Crab patterns.

Leeville Fishing Report: The fishing was steady this weekend keeping the action still centered deep in the marsh. The cool snap brought high winds and cool air, but never kept the tide down until late in the evening. Which made for great fishing thru the day. Concentrating on main points around the marsh allowing the tide to bring the "Cajun Bonefish" & trout out of the marsh. Best baits were Sea Shad Assassin in Morning Glory fished on a 1/4oz jigheads or Pogeaux Pops popped aggresively with a live coccahoe. The cold weather ahead will soon put us into the winter pattern of deadend canals and working the sulfur mine. So look to the weather forecast to keep your patterns straight for fishing conditions ahead.

Leeville Fishing Report: The cool weather feels great, and the fishing is steady around the Leeville marsh. All the action is still centered deep into the marsh, in 2ft of water or less. The trout are scattered throughout the marsh feeding aggressively on live coccahoes under a Pogeaux Pop. Locate moving water in the duck ponds and you'll find trout. The tide is losing thru the morning, concentrate on main points later in the day for "Cajun Bonefish". Old faithful Bayou Buck's ZZ Spot Redfish R-Bend Spinner in Black/Chartruese burned along the shoreline. This action should last thru out the fall keeping the inner marsh perrty active.

Leeville Fishing Report For the Weekend: The high water came in with Ivan second round and brought lots of fish into the marsh. The tides will probably be back to normal height this weekend, but the fishing non the less should be just as good. Work all the main points along the duck ponds concentrate on lots of broken marsh. If the winds comes up then mudstick yourself into pockets and work a Pogeaux Pop and live minnows, make alot of popping along the banks. If you don't get a bite after 10 minutes move to the next pocket. If the wind is down work the broken banks with a Spot-Remover Jr in black/chartruese. Lots of trout have returned to the marsh so keep the Pogeaux Pops handy for making alot of noise in any current you see in the marsh.

The higher tides did bring more bait back into the marsh which brought trout following inside. The low tides have left tailing "Cajun Bonefish" everywhere eatting shrimip along the duck ponds & oyster beds. Shrimp & crabs are thick in the ponds making perfect site fishing conditions. Early in the morning tides are at normal range and losing later in the afternoon exposing "Cajun Bonefish" with plenty of tails to be seen. Best patterns under this situation is the Golden Eye Shrimp for site fishing and Dupre Spoonfly for working the area blind casting. As Always Keep The Flies Wet!

Leeville Fishing Report: The trout action continues along the islands. Plenty school trout along the inner rigs and feeding under the birds. The redfish action continues strong along the duck ponds around Williams Canal area into the Wisner Tract. Spot-Removers burned along the edge of the marsh is removing spots in the ponds. Flyfishing for Cajun Bonefish is red hot with the Dupre Spoonflies and Golden Eye Shrimp pattern. Leeville Fishing Report: The trout action has continued to a a trinkle lately. Most of the steady catches are located along the coastline. The beach still holds plenty of trout with most being caught on live croakers. Plenty of school trout around the oyster beds north of Grand Isle. Pogeaux Pops rigged with a glow/chartruese Sea Shads making plenty of noise drawing them up for the stike. Cajun Bonefish are plentiful in the marsh. SheDogs in Black/Chartruese have been really hot for redfish early and during heavy overcast days. The calm hot days has sent me offshore fighting Mangrove Snapper & Cobia producing steady catches of 6 to 8 lb fish. Live croakers have been the best bite of Mangroves at depths of 40 to 60 feet within 6 miles offshore.

Leeville Fishing Report: The south winds have definately returned, but not that it has stopped our adventures from continuing. We have headed deep into the marsh to catch "Cajun Bonefish" the action has been great with the higher water bringing even more redfish into the duck ponds. The murky water condtions have forced us to fish Pogeaux Pops with live coccahoes. Spearing the Mudstick in 2 1/2 feet of water and making alot of noise with the Pogeaux pop has produced aggressive strikes along the windy main points. The key has definately been making alot of noise. If the wind ever lays back down, we will be on the hunt for trout along the beach.

Leeville Fishing Report: We headed Southwest this morning in search of Shaka Heads (trout) and as you probably been reading all over this site their were plenty to find on nearly every platform or structure we fished. All the major bays around Leeville and Grand Isle are holding trout. The pattern is simple 5 inch Eel Assassins on a 5/16 oz jig head bounced off the bottom and hold on it is pertty steady. The colors varied from Silver Mullet to Open Night in cleaner water to Electric chicken and Space Guppy in stained water. The patterns key was bouncing the bottom keeping in contact with it from begining to the end of the cast. I have an OPENING on SUNDAY if anyone would like to get in on the HOT trout action for this weekend.

Leeville Fishing Report: The trout action has been on the steady increase since the begining of the spawn early last week. Most of the bigger bays around Leeville are producing limits of trout around reefs and islands. Patterns have been simple bouncing a 5in Eel Assassin in OpeningNight & Silver Mullet on 1/4oz jigs. Freelining live coccahoes on a 1/0 Mustad hook around the legs of platforms is a hot pattern. Locating mullets over reefs and finding feeding birds are other patterns in locating hungry aggressive trout. The redfish action in the marsh is heatted up with "Cajun Bonefish" being caught on Fly, TopDogs, or Spot-Removers.

Leeville Fishing Report: The past few days have put us deep in the marsh & back to East Timbalier Island and right back to the marsh. We started the the weekend catching reds and school trout all over the east side of Leeville sticking our nose in every pond we can get out of the wind. Popping Pogeaux Pops and live coccahoes was our primary weapon on those 30knot days. As the wind would lay down for a morning switching over to a Spot-Remover was the key to success as we can actually site fish "Cajun Bonefish". Yesterday we were able to hit East Timbalier for a few hours before the seas awoke. We started working the rocks hard catching a few bigger trout and redfish keeping tight to the rocks. Soft jerkbaits such as 5in Eel Assassins and StickBaits is a must for catcing the better fish. Well that pattern lasted for just a few hours because back to the marsh for the rest of this week. Chasing reds and trout that are on the move around main points and open bays along the marsh. Most of the trout are keying on small shrimp moving in & out of the duck ponds.

Leeville Fishing Report: Early in the week the trout action has been great along the island, but the south winds have forced us back into the marsh. My flyfishermen have enjoyed the "Cajun Bonefish" action in the interior marshs of Leeville. Site fishing along the duck ponds has been great this week. The best patterns were Jim Dupre's Spoonfly or Beter's Shrimp fly. The south winds will be forcing more tides and more reds back into the marsh all weekend. The trout action along the duck ponds will increase in the inner marsh as the tide rises. Work the main points with tidal current forcing thru. Pogeaux pops with glow/chartruese sea shads making alot of noise will draw most of your strikes this weekend. As always burning a Spot-Remover rigged with Black/Chartruese Sea Shads along the broken marsh to locate the "Cajun Bonefish".

Leeville Fishing Report: The extremely low tides have the lower marshs of Leeville bone dry at this point. Sight fishermen looking for an edge on seeing "Cajun Bonefish", well today and tomorrow is your chance. Some of your deeper ponds and oyster beds will be exposing main points and holding reds waiting for a chance to return to the shallows. Fly Fishermen wanting action on the shallow flats, should be looking to Crab and Shrimp Patterns for sight fishing. The Reef Runner by Bayou Buck rigged with a 5 inch Eel Assassin in Black/Chartruese is a deadly weapon on under these conditions. Then comes the southeast winds for the weekend bringing the high tides back into the marsh. This will swing patterns back to spring conditions, pull out the Pogeaux Pop and start making noise along the tidal points as the tide comes up. Best colors for the marsh are old faithful black/chartruese & glow/chartruese Sea Shad Assassins.

Fishing Report For Leeville: The windy days in the marsh has put us fishing duck ponds in and around Bay Rambo. We are finding plenty redfish making the return back to the inner marsh and shallow duck ponds. The Sport-Remover Jr. is a perfect weapon when finding reds cruising the edge of the big bays and along the duck ponds. Burning the Spot-Remover Jr. rigged with Morning Glory Sea Shad Assassins in the face of the "Cajun Bonefish" is getting aggressive strikes. As the winds lay working the edge of Bay Rambo and further south to locate specks making the run south in the bigger bays. When you see a few mullets working over reefs pullover and start popping. We're using Pogeaux Pops rigged with Sea Shads in Glow/Chartruese making plenty of noise. East Timbalier Island is slowly heatting up with the warmer weather more bait is showing up along the jetties. Soft jerkbaits twitched around the rocks will produce aggressive strikes, swimming 5 inch Eel Assassin along deeper holes is still catching plenty trout and redfish. The best colors are Silver Mullet later during clear incoming tides and Strawberry/White with stained losing tides. The key is locating bait as always.

Leeville Fishing Report for Monday & Tuesday: Monday Moe & Jackie to very skilled fishermen, came down to fight the northwest winds blowing strong. We headed for the eastside of Leeville to find protection on the edge of duck ponds. My guys were Pogeaux Popping live coccahoes in cuts watching the "Cajun Bonefish" coming out. The reds were somewhat aggressive, the better bites came along the edge of main canals near deep water.
Tuesday was a Fly Fishing trip for "Cajun Bonefish". The northwest winds made the casting alittle challenging, but Steve was well prepaired. Regardless of the winds the low tide made for perfect site fishing conditions. The average depth in the marsh was 3 inches, allowing us to site fish every redfish. The best patterns was Better's Shrimp Fly which is perfect for site fishing in extreme shallow conditions.

Leeville Fishing Report: We headed south to East Timbalier in search of trout and redfish. The action was alittle slow until we anchored down over the right spot. The technique was simple 1/8oz Shrimpaler Hooks rigged with Sea Shad Assassins in Strawberry/White or Purple Canary. The depth was between 3 & 6 feet of water, allowing the Sea Shad to nearly contact the bottom and bounce back slowly. The bite was steady for nearly an hour, then we were off to the Cajun Bonefish spot. We pulled in under trolling motor made the first cast and it was on for about 45 minutes, reds upto 18lbs. As soon as this bite finished my guys were ready for the dock for some rest. They did an excellent job handling the fishing along the coast and the many rocks.

Flyfishing Report For Leeville: We ran out of Bobbylynn's Marina in Leeville heading west to Raccourci. Steve & Greg were interested in catching "Cajun Bonefish" on fly. As we pulled into the oyster beds along Raccourci the site was Cajun Bonefish along every point. Steve made the first strike by landing a 8lb red in 1 ft of water. Greg wasn't for behind landing his very first Cajun Bonefish on fly. The next few hours the site fishing was on.. Catching and releasing big Cajun Bonefish..

Fishing Report: The action has been steady in the Sulfur Mine all week. Trout are being caught from 2 to 5 feet of water on a Pogeaux Pop Corks rigged with a 2 ft leader & Shrimpaler hook with Black/Chartruese Sea Shad Assassin. Making alot of noise has been the ticket to locating and keeping the action steady. A few of the deadend canals south the mine are holding limits of reds, just bounce a 1/4oz Catahoula Hooker in Black/Chartruese off the banks.

Fly Fishing Report: The marsh from Leeville to Golden Meadow has "Cajun Bonefish" tailing everywhere. The losing tides every morning has reds tailing on the oyster beds and shallow duck ponds. The best patterns lately have been crab and shrimp flies. Which are ideal for site fishing to feeding fish. The strikes have been extremely aggressive through out the day. Trout fishermen are looking forward to the upcoming cold front for later this week. It should push alot more trout out of the shallow marsh and further north to lakes such as Catfish Lake and inot the Sulfur Mine area. Locating schools is simple a Pogeaux Pop Cork with a 1/8oz Shrimpaler Hook rigged with a Glow/Chartruese Sea Shad Assassin. Make alot of noise popping the trout will come to the cork.

Leeville Fishing Report: The action is steadily heating up in the marsh. Trout are showing up on both sides of Leeville east & west. The ticket is locating moving water coming from the shallow duck ponds and making alot of noise with a Pogeaux Pop Cork rigged with Sea Shad Assassin in Glow/Chartruese on a 1/8oz Shrimpaler Hook. The Cajun Bonefish are working along the edge of the shallow ponds. Spot-Remover Jr. is perfect for pulling reds out of extreme shallow water. The losing tide has reds walking the shallow banks looking for food.
The Cobia action is in full swing as Charlie posted earlier. We had a great day sunday running around the gulf site fishing Lemon Fish casting pink & chartruese 3oz jigs. I even had a chance to play one with the Sage 10wt. The bright sun had many sun bathing under most rigs & platforms. Most fish were located from 35 to 44 ft of water.

Leeville Fishing Report: The trout actoin has slowly but surely began on the east side of Leeville. The past couple days we've been catching a varying sizes of trout from 12 to 22 inches. Most of our trout are being caught on Sea Shad Assassin in Black/chartruese on 1/4 Screwlock Assassin Jigheads. Swimming the Sea Shad between depths of 2 to 4 feet of water. Locating some of the trout on Pogeaux Pop rigged with the same plastic 18 inches under the cork making alot of noise. The "Cajun Bonefish" action is generally side by side with the trout all over the inner marsh. Most any moving water in the ponds is holding trout, the next front should add to the action on steady trout fishing.

Leeville Fishing Report: The action has been steady in the shallow marsh. "Cajun Bonefish" are being caught from Golden Meadow to Fourchon along all the inner ponds. The tides was running high most of the week, but the upcoming front should change things. The perfect searching bait for the reds have been the 3x Spot-Remover rigged with a Glow/Chartruese Sea Shad Assassin. Locating trout in the marsh has been aggresively popping a Pogeaux Pop rigged with either live coccahoes or Sea Shad Assassins on a Shrimpaler Hook 1/8oz. I've also had a few chances to chase Lemon fish or Cobia along the close riggs out of Bell Pass. We've located plenty of quality Cobia in the 40lb class on riggs between 30 to 50 ft of water. Pink to Chartruese Bucktail Jigs in 3 to 6 oz are working great unless your like me and prefer a flyrod. Site fishing has been productive, we've seen anywhere from 8 to 12 cobia a day on the surface. Casting a Bunker Fly in Croaker patterns has produced most of my strikes lately. This weekends north winds should lay the gulf down for the begining of the week.

Leeville Fishing Report: The Cajun Bonefish action has been great. The northeast winds have been relentless. Keeping the action deep in the marsh, locating redfish means fishing small pockets protected from the winds. Slowing down the presentation by fishing a Pogeaux Cork with a live cocahoe, popping the cork aggressively. In cleaner pockets burning a Spot-Remover 3x rigged with a Sea Shad Assassin in Black/Chartruese has produced aggressive strikes.

Leeville Fishing Report: The "Cajun Bonefish" action has been nonstop for the past couple weeks. The shallower marsh or duck ponds are higher than normal and flooded with redfish and bait. Best baits have been Bayou Bucks 3x Spot Remover with a Glow/Chartruese Sea Shad Assassin or live cocchoes under a Pogeaux Cork making alot of noise popping the cork. This weekends forcast calling for north winds and alittle cool down will likely loaded the edge of the ponds with tailing fish for the serious site fishermen. The trout action in the marsh is spotty, with plenty of school trout in the 10-13 in showing up in many of the mains cuts in the middle of duck ponds. Popping Pogeaux corks will always get thier attention for quick action. Flyfishermen looking for the adventure, the time is now for site fishing Lemon fish or cobia.
