When we finally reached the Gulf, we were met with 20 to 25 knot winds and 3 to 5ft. seas. I thought to myself, here we go again, another boat ride from hell.

As I wondered if my life insurance was paid, Peace told us to hold on and pushed the throttle forward. We were headed for the Midnight Lumps and I just knew it was going to be a long arduous trip. Being used to 22'
conventional hulls, we all braced ourselves for the jolts we thought we would get from the approaching waves, however, they never  came. You see Peace doesn't have a normal boat. It's a 22 ft. Glacier Bay Catamaran with
twin 90 h.p. Yamaha's. It didn't leap out of the water on to a plane, but rather surged forward cutting through the water. It almost

felt like something was wrong - the faster we went, the better the ride. The boat was cruising at speed of around 28 knots. When the Catamaran hit some of the larger waves, you could hear the engines rev up as it left the surface of the water. We cringed, waiting for the boat to slam into the front of the next wave. Instead, the Glacier Bay landed gently, as if mounted on shock absorbers. Just when you thought it was going to ram your knees though your chest, the boat landed easily. It was a very impressive ride. In a little over 1 1/2 hrs, we were at the lumps.

I had mentioned to Peace that I would like to catch some Amberjack . When we started to cross the lump Peace kept close watch on his depth finder. As we went along, the water gradually rose to approximately 200 ft. He saw fish on the finder and said for me to drop to the bottom.  We were rigged with medium heavy spinning rigs, a sliding sinker, and 100 lb. leader with a whole poggy . When I got to the bottom, I felt a hard hit and set the hook on what turned out to be a 20 lb. Amberjack. He could actually tell what
the fish on the screen were. Not too shabby. I wanted to catch more
Amberjack, but the other species of fish kept interfering with that. In the
