Our fishing excursion started at 6 a.m. It was far from dull. When we got to Tiger Pass, it was socked in with fog. Our Captain, not being deterred, boldly headed south, saying “Not to worry, I've done this many times”. Not knowing Peace that well at the time, I couldn't help but think - I sure hope so. My fears soon disappeared when I saw the skill and professionalism by which Peace navigated through the fog.

As we went down Tiger Pass, Peace used a method of navigation I'd never witnessed before. He had a waypoint for the trip down Tiger Pass set in his GPS about every 100-ft. or so and kept Tiger Pass traffic abreast via VHF radio of our position at each marker buoy. It was pretty impressive. |
