Fishing Magician Charters

Today Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Poco Sloss, John, and Bob. Jason picked them up at their camp in Proctor's Landing. Then, they headed to the Biloxi Marsh

They made a couple of stops before catching their limit of 75 speckled trout in the 12 - 18" range. The guys had a great time catching fish and joking around with each other. They were just enjoying the day; and the weather has been beautiful.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a great day of fun and enjoyment.

Fishing Magician Charters

Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing with TC, Bella and Paul. It was a beautiful weekend! I sure hope most of you reading this got out to enjoy some of it. We fished the Biloxi Marsh and the guys caught their limit of 75 specked trout and 15 beautiful reds.

All of our fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. There are a lot of fish to be caught in the marsh these days.

I was able to get back at it again on Sunday morning with a different group. But with the same goal, to catch fish.

SundayI had the pleasure of fishing with Ray, Kevin, his son Jacob, and Jocob's grandfather. It was Jacob's 12th birthday. It turned out to be a great day for Jacob. He was eager and fired up to catch some fish which he did. He caught more fish than he had ever caught. They ended the day with 115 speckled trout, 1 nice red, and 1 very, very happy fella.

We also fished the Biloxi Marsh 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. We had started off our trip in Lake Borgne where we caught about 30 trout and then eventually ended up back into the marsh. What a great place to fish. It sure is nice to be able to pick and choose areas to fish, and catch fish.

Guys if you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a trip you will never forget.

Give a fishing trip to a special person for Chritmas. And maybe they will even invite you along. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call or email.

Fishing Magician Charters

Friday we had 2 boats running. Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Al and his group. The guys headed to the Biloxi marsh where we have been catching a lot of trout. But that morning it was tough, there was no tide. They still managed to catch 45 speckled trout before they headed back to the dock. The guys had to be at the dock before 12:00.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve and his group. We were also fishing the Biloxi Marsh and having a tough time with no tide. However, not long after Capt. Jason headed in with his group, it was like someone flipped the switch. The tide started moving and the fish turned on.

We ended the day with 110 speckled trout and 10 reds. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

I have found that it doesn't matter whether the tide is rising or falling, so long as there is good tide. There's good fishing in our beautiful marshes.

If you want to catch some fish or have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a trip. You can also get a gift certificate to give someone a fishing trip for Christmas.

Hollandale, MS USA

My good friend and fishing partner James Domino and I checked into the Fishin Magician lodge in Shell Beach on Wednesday night.  There was already a group of 4 there, but in the luxurious Nunez Hilton there was plenty of room for all.  The other guys were fly fishing and were on a different schedule from James and I so we hardly even crossed paths in the kitchen!  Johnny's son Jason joined us for a Thursday morning trip into the Biloxi Marsh to show us a few new spots to fish in the winter.  By noon, we had a limit of trout and a couple of sheepshead and a red to fill out the box.  James and I left Friday morning on our own and had a limit of trout from 12" to 19" and 6 beautiful reds by 12:30.  Not much tide movement early in the morning, but we put almost 30 fish in the boat between noon and 12:30.  All fish were caught in the Stump Lagoon area on Campo's shrimp 2' under a popping cork.  The more noise the better!
I encourage you to get in touch with the Fishin Magician Johnny and he will put you in his boat or one of his guides will join you in yours.  Can't beat the Nunez family and the hospitality of all the folks in Shell Beach!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of fishing with John Kelly, his wife Flo, and their friend Jack. It was a beautiful day. I decided to try our luck in the back of Hopedale.

It turned out to be a good decision. The guys caught 65 speckled trout and 8 reds. They called it a day at 12:00. They had more than enough fish. All fish were caught on Campo's live shrimp fishing 2' under a popping cork.

Guys the weather has been beautiful and the fishing has been great. So, give us a call to enjoy some fantastic fishing.

We still have one boat slip available for rent which is not too far from Campo's Marina, where you can get your bait and fuel on the way out.

Fishing Magician ChartersYesterday I had the pleaure of fishing with Jimmy, his wife Michele,Steve, and his wife Rene. They spent the night at the lodge so that we could get an early start.

It was a windy day but a successful day. They caught 70 speckled trout (12 - -18"), 4 reds, and 6 drum.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

The best thing about this time of the year is that you do not have to travel far to have a success trip. We fished in back of the Hopedale area. You don't really have to run anymore than 15 minutes before you are on your fishing grounds. There is a lot of fish out there to be caught and it is nice and cool. Like I said you don't have to go far to get in a great day of fishing.

I still have one boat slip with lift, water, and clreaning station (to clean all of your boxes of fish that you will catch) available. It is only 1/4 of a mile from Campo's Marina, so you can pick up bait, ice and fuel on your way out.

Well guys you haven't really been hearing from me for the past few weeks. I took a couple of weeks off to go to school with my oldest son, John. He wanted to upgrade his 6 pack license to a 100 ton and I decided to do the same. I really enjoyed spending the two weeks with him. It is not often we get to do that. And, we both now have our 100 ton Master's license and we are back at fishing.

Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Ben and his friends Friday. Capt. Jason fished the Biloxi Marsh catching 23 reds and 30 speckled trout. The guys said that they had a great time fishing with Jason.

Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing with John Kelly and his lovely wife Flo. We also fished the Biloxi Marsh catching 70 trout and 1 red. John and Flo fish with me about 9 - 10 times a year and it is always a pleaure to have them on board with me. Some times they even get to bring friends and family.

Monday I had the pleasure of fishing with Joel Scales and his family. I decided to change scenery. So, we fished around the Lake Robin area. By 10:30 the guys called it a day with 70 trout. They said that they had more fish than they knew what to do with.

It looks like the Hopedale is holding a lot of fish and it is not a long run.

So, guys if you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call. You won't be sorry.

Fishing Magician Chartets

Yesterday I had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff Reid and his friends: Dr. Steve Slaton, his wife Robby, and son Steven.

Since it was nice and calm I had decided to head to the sound in hopes that some trout were still there. However, after a couple of stops of catching nothing but catfish, I decide to head back to the marsh. We ended the day catching a nice box of trouts, reds and black drum.

I really was hoping Robby would hook into a red because she had never caught one. At first only Jeff, Dr. Steve and Steven were pulling the reds in. I kept reasuring Robby that she would catch one. And I kept explaining to her to have faith. It is not how the game begins, but how the game ends. Sure enough she figured out the trick, and then she was catching one red after the other.

It turned out to be a great day of fishing for everyone. If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a trip. The Biloxi Marsh is alive with fish !!!

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp. Check out the pictures of this happy group.

Folks, I wanted to take a moment to truly thank Capt Johnny Nunez for a great trip yesterday. About three to four times a year I take several customers fishing with Johnny and we have a blast. Yesterday, I invited Dr Steve Slaton and his wife and son to jion me on a trip that was spectacular. Our day started with a lot of ahh's and oh's and good laughter all day long. We caught a nice box of fish during the day. We finish with 27 trout and a limit of redfish.
Steve's wife Robby and his son Steven definitely caught the biggest fish and outfished us both too.
Capt Johnny, Thank you for a great day on the water.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of fishing for Danny Miremont and his guests. Danny and his partners put on a rodeo for their friends and aquaintence at their camp. Danny let the guys know that the first place red and first place trout were each worth a whopping $500. The hunt was on!!! Numbers were not what they were looking for, but SIZE.

Capt. Jason's boat took 1st. Place for the reds and my boat took 1st place for the trout. Everyone had a blast trying to hunt for the biggest.

We picked everyone up at the camp. Capt. Jason, Capt. Casey, and I all fished the Biloxi Marsh. The fish caught were reds and speckled trout.

After the trip we all met back at Danny's lodge to eat Jambalaya, fried fish and dessert. Danny and his friends really know how to throw a party.

Capt. Jeremy had the pleasure of fishing with Tom and his guests. They also fished the Biloxi Marsh catching reds and speckled trout.

The total fish caught yesterday were: 70 reds in the 3 - 10 lb. range and 160 trout. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

All of the guests said that they had a great time. I did take pictures, but Capt. Jason is out and he has the camera, so I will post later.

I would like to thank my captains for doing an excellent job with our customers. They put out 110% each time they take someone out and no matter how tough the circumstances.

Today I didn't have any charters. For the past 5 days I have had cancellations because of the weather. However, I couldn't take it any more on land. So, I called my brother Jeff up, and asked him to go fishing with me. We went scouting and it didn't take us long to put together a nice box of reds, trout and flounder.

We fished the Biloxi Marsh and it is full of fish. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using storm minnows and Berkley Gulp white shrimp.

My brother and I don't usually get to fish much together anymore. When we were young we were always together on the water, either fishing or hunting. So, it was a nice treat today.

Capt. Jason and Capt. D. had the pleasure of fishing with Jim Simon's group. They are industial workers, sugar cane farmers who were visiting and attending a convention in New Orleans.

The guys spent the night at the lodge to enjoy some of our Louisiana cooking. Capt. D. treated the guys to a fantastic meal of Trout Amedine, gumbo, salad, dessert and much more.

Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Greg, David and Charlie. Capt. D. had the pleasure of fishing with Jim, Parker, and Mark.

Both boats fished the Biloxi Marsh catching a nice pile of redfish, drum, and speckled trout.

The guys said that they would definitely be back. There is nothing like good food, lodging, and a great fishing trip.

The guys didn't get an early start because they wanted to let the rain go by. It turned out to be a great move by the captains. With all the rain that was around, the guys did not get wet one time.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

I forgot to add that Capt. Jason actually ran across a big school of redfish on his way in, and stopped to let the guys catch and release. They were very surprised at how large the school was. As fast as they threw the line they were pulling them in. All fish were legal size but the guys already had their limit and couldn't keep any. However, the guys had a great time catching and releasing.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. There is lots of fish to be caught in the marsh.

Rain everywhere, but we got lucky and only got sprinkled on one time on the way out.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Bill Landry and his friends and family. I started off heading to the Biloxi Marsh. Once I got into Stumpt Lagoon the winds were calm. So, I said to myself, we might be able to get into the Sound. I spun the big Privateer around and headed to the Sound.

When we got to Bay Eloi there was a 1 1/2' chop, which isn't bad. We got lucky at the first stop and put 70 into the boat before the wind blew to 3 footers. Then, we cut back into the marsh and put another 20 trout and 8 reds in the boat.

Today turned out to be a pretty good day with the weather we were facing. Mother Nature does pull some surprises, missing the rain was one. One thing about this time of the year is that if you can't catch fish on the outside, you can always catch them on the inside.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

Greg and Bill you are right. You never know when any of us might need help. We all want to have a safe trip on the water.

Marsh/Coastal Fishing Report

Capt. Johnny Nunez

Shell Beach/St. Bernard, LA USA

Fishing Magician ChartersWell guys this is not a fishing report. But, I would like to use this to help anyone who may be in this same situation.

Last Thursday I didn't have a fishing trip. So, I was doing maintenence on my fishing equipment and boat.

I got a phone call from a friend of mine (Norman) in Baton Rouge. He said he had a problem and I asked what it was. The problem was that two friends of his called to say they were on a platform west of Deadman Island and their boat had sunk. I told him that I was 20 minutes from my boat and I asked if they were safe. He said "yes" they were on the platform. So, I hurried on my way.

When I got to the platform I met two VERY happy guys. I asked the guys what happened. They explained they were in an 18' Bass boat that took a couple of waves over the stern, and that was it. They said that while the boat was going down, they managed to put one of their cell phones on the dock of the platform before the boat went down all of the way.

I told the guys I was sure glad they didn't try to swim to the boat. One guy said that he did try, but he almost didn't make it back to the platform. I explained that they shouldn't ever leave safety to try to swim toward a boat. As a person swims toward a boat, it is actually going further and further away. And, before you realize it you have drifted further away from safety.

After I picked the guys up we went to find the boat. I knew if we left it, there would be a good chance someone would run into it early in the morning.

When we found it, it had to be flipped over. Then, we towed it to Lake Athanasio where we had to pull it over an island and bale all of the compartments out. All of the compartments in their boat were full of water and would not drain out until we got it on land. Once we got it on land and drain out, we towed it back to the Breton Sound Marina. I was sure glad I was able to help these two guys. At least this situation had a happy ending.

Remember guys if you are in a situation like this, it doesn't matter how good of a swimmer you are. Don't leave safety. You can always get another boat. Life is too precious.
God Bless and Safe Fishing

Fishing Magician Charters

Yesterday I had the pleasure of fishing with Timmy Kingston, his boss Jack, Jack's son and daughter John and Betsy. What a great group to fish with. They really knew how to enjoy themselves on the boat. Eventhough we had a little rain on the way out, that didn't stop this group. They were determined to catch some fish, and that is what they did.

We fished the Breton Sound area where the guys caught a really nice box of trout and even a few white trout. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

Guys come on down. There is still a lot of good fishing to be done. Right now, if the weather is bad, we can fish inside. When weather is calm we can go to the outside. We have the best of both worlds.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a trip that you will never forget.

Today Capt. Jason had the pleasure of taking out a great couple. They are John and Michele Bond from Baton Rouge, LA.

This morning the weather was very calm. They didn't go to the outside because John wanted to stay in the marsh. John said that he didn't want to take the chance of getting sick.

Capt. Jason took them into the Stumpt Lagoon and Muscle Bay areas, and they caught a nice box of red fish and speckled trout.

The couple said that this was their third charter boat company they tried and the best one, even with all of the rain around. The couple said they had a great time and will be back.

All fish were caught on Campo's live shrimp 2' under a popping cork.

Guys, if you can't get to the outside waters to fish, the marsh is alive with fish. Every day that we go there seems to be more and more fish in the marsh. With all of the areas we have available to fish, it is hard to make a bad trip in SE Louisiana.

Fishing Magician Charters

Well guys this is a couple days report. Starting with Saturday.I didn't have a charter trip. But I did have the pleasure of fishing with my good friends Bill McCrary and his lovely wife, Sharon. Like Bill said in his report. One stop is all it took. We ended with 75 nice speckled trout in the boat. I did have the pleasure of showing Bill a couple of more spots to fish in the marsh and a new way to get home through the marsh, especially if the weather get bad.

It is always a pleasure to fish with Bill and Sharon. Sharon is second to no man. She handles herself well with a pole and can fish with the best.

Saturday evening we had the pleasure of entertaining Greg, Rene, David and many of their friends from Baton Rouge and Texas. They came in to take advantage of our seafood boil. We had hot boiled crabs, shrimp, boiled potatoes, cabbage, corn, onions, sausage, and garlic. Guys when we have a seafood boil we try to throw everything in except the kitchen sink. Talk about some good eating. This is another positve about living on the bayous, "Fresh Seafood".

Sunday morning we headed to the sound. I had my sons captains,Jason and Jeremy give me a hand. We all fished the Breton Sound area . And we all ended the day with nice boxes of speckled trout and lots of fun with great memories. Then, we all met back at the dock to joke around and compare catches.

For the last two days I have had the pleasure of fishing with Bo Bilbo, John Seagle and their friend Roger. With all of the wind we have been having, we fished the Biloxi Marsh. Let me tell you guys there are lots of fish showing up in the marsh. Monday we had 60 trout and Tuesday we had 80 trout.

Thank God we live in an area that the weather never stops us from fishing. Here in Southeast Louisiana we always have the option to fish the outside waters and the marsh. God really blessed us with plenty of game, plenty of fish, and plenty of good people to enjoy it with. For the past few days it has been nice and cool on the water since we have had a breeze.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina Rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

I want to thank all of my guests for fishing with us. And thank my two sons for doing an excellent job.

Guys it looks like we have the option to fish outside bays and the marsh for some good fishing. If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a trip you will never forget.

As my good friend and fishing buddy wrote on The Fishing Magician, we had the time of our lives this past weekend fishing with the Nunez captains and having dinner the night before with the Nunez family, including Johnny's lovely wife Karen.  This group of people are not only the best at what they do, but how they treat you when you are down there.  They go out of their way to make you feel at home and the accommodations are one of the finest in the area.

Now about the fishing trip.  We average about 10 trips a year with The Fishing Magician and this was the first time ever we got wet going out.  This did not stop the boats from moving forward and Captain(s) Johnny, Jason and Jeremy did a fantastic job as usual finding fish for our group.  When we are there with these guys, our goal is not to limit out everytime, but just to have a good time with friends.  We meet that goal every time we go with The Fishing Magician.

If you have not had the pleasure to fish with these Captains, I would highly recommend that you call them after reading this posting.  It will be worth your time and I am confident that you will find a new friend(s).

One last comment.  To the other many boats that fish in this area:  If you see a boat fishing a rig and you see them pulling fish into their boat, please have the courtesy not to drop the achor on top of where the fishing are being caught.  There are too many other spots to catch fish and you will not spook the fish away from the boat that is catching.  They call this "fishing etiquette" no matter where you fish.

Who says thirteen is an unlucky number?  You certainly couldn't prove it by our trip this weekend and apparently, Captain Johnny Nunez,The Fishing Magician isn't superstitious either.

Thirteen friends and family from Baton Rouge, Covington and Houston,TX converged on Captain Johnny's lodge Saturday night for a long awaited opportunity for fellowship and fishing.  What an experience....Johnny started off the party by providing us with a complimentary crab and shrimp boil there at his place. Watched the Saints destroy Oakland in high def on the big screen there and ate til we couldn't stuff anymore.

4:30 AM Sunday morning seemed to come too quick....and brought some storms with it as we gathered at the dock to load up with Johnny at the helm of his boat, and sons Captains Jason and Jeremy Nunez (along with his deckhand Lester Nunez) each taking a party in their boats.  Wagers were on and we headed out through some early rain to see who would return with bragging rights.  These guys worked their tails off for us, keeping us on fish that were harder to find than usual today.  It was hit and run all day, and great coordination among "Team Nunez" was the recipe for success.  We returned to the dock around noon with ice chests full of fish on every boat, with a variety of trout (white and specks mixed), drum, and flounder.  While the Captains cleaned and bagged our catch, we all cleaned up in the lodge before heading back to our respective cities.  What an awesome trip!

I read the posts here daily so I'm sure there are any number of charter captains in the Hopedale/Shell Beach area that are capable of putting their parties on fish.  But when it comes to throwing a "fishing party" I know from personal experience that Fishing Magician Charters and the entire Nunez family knows how to make you feel "welcome to their world" there.

I could tell you about all the fish we caught, and even show you pictures, but the truth is, it wouldn't begin to do justice to the great time we had!  Thanks for showing us some real hospitality Johnny and we'll see you again soon!

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Tim and his daughter Mary Ellen, from Jackson, Miss.

It was a little windy, so I decided to fish the Biloxi Marsh. And, it ended up being a good day.

We caught 50 nice trout using Campo's live shrimp. We fished around the Lake Eugene area. It was nice, cool, and calm. So, they didn't have to fight the rough seas. Since, Tim had just had a hip replacement, I didn't want to bounce him around too much.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using Campo's live shrimp.

By the end of the day, Tim and Mary Ellen were already discussing their plans on coming back with a larger group.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Come join us on a trip you will not regret. We would love to show you around and help you catch your own fish.

Second Day for Jimmy Woods and his group from Georgia.
The guys had a really good day catching reds and trout. Some of the guys wanted to catch trout, so Capt. Lester took them. They fished Bay Eloi and caught a nice box of trout.

Capt. Jason and Capt. Casey took the rest of Jimmy's group deep into the Sound to catch some Bull Reds. They each had a good day at catching their limits of reds and some nice trout.

I have had Danny Kingston for the last two day. We also had two really great days of fishing. Trout and reds were caught, eventhough there was a lot of rain and a little wind around.

Friday and Saturday turned out to be two great days to fish. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina Rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

I did have Capt. Dane running a trip for me today also. He had the pleasure of taking out Lee and his guest. They fished Bay Eloi and caught a nice box of fish.

I would like to thank my guests who came in to fish with us it is always a pleasure to fish with the guys, gals, and kids. Also I would like to thank my captains and deckhands that work hard to make sure everyone has a really good fishing experience.

STEVE MCNEMAR

MADISONVILLE, LA USA

My wife Staci and I had the great pleasure of fishing for the first time with Capt Johnny Nunez The Fishing Magician and if you'll pardon the corniness it was pure magic.
The captain's gruff demeanor on the phone gave me a false impression as he was extremely fun to fish with-affable-jovial-very informative about the Shell Beach area past present and future and extremely good with fishing instructions.
It had been a while since Staci, who works hard on projects that positivly impact our sport, had experienced a good ole trout slam and yesterday was going to prove to be her day.
It was a one stop shop and it was on from the minute her Paradise Popper hit the water with a live Campo's shrimp.
The captain was great at providing instructions in a very mild manner that I found impressing whenever Staci got a little too eager to get the fish to the boat. She had a ball.
I couldn't help myself and started tossing a Chartreause Mirrolure Top Dog Jr. Man I've been blessed with some good fishing trips but it doesn't get any better than catching trout on top waters on every cast!
I noticed thet the Captain wasn't fishing so I asked him if he felt OK. Said yep-felt great but likes to see his clients catch their limits-not him or his captains unless they need to show someone how its done. Wow-go figure. Add to that that Staci never had to touch a fish or bait a hook and you have a definite class act there!
The captain said on "kid trips" he'll send a deck hand to make sure the kids don't have to bait their own hooks or take off fish and they make sure the kids catch fish. Now guys I don't know about you but I love to take my wife and girls fishing and do so every weekend that we can. But boy I gotta tell you they wear me out.
The thought of fishing with them and actually not having to work all day sounds like a heck of a deal.
Had our limit of trout by 8 am with a mess of white trout thrown in for good measure.
These weren't the big trout of a couple of months ago but were the good eating size with only two throw backs all morning.
Excellent day with an awesome captain.
We'll be back and I'll be bringing my girls next time.

Great Morning in the Breton Sound!
I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve McNemar and his wife Staci. One stop is all it took. The guys put a great box of trout into the boat for 8:00. From the first cast to the last cast they had nonstop action.

We were fishing 2' under a popping cork with live shrimp. As soon as the line hit the water Staci was bring a fish back in. The fish were so close to the top that Steve decided to try top water. The trout were knocking the lures out of the water. Every time Steve threw out he had a fish. I had a great time with these two.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Danny Kingston and his friends. I picked the guys up at their camp, and then we headed to Campo's to pick up some live shrimp and tell everyone good morning.

I headed back to the Breton Sound where we left them biting yesterday. And sure enough, they were there as if they were waiting to be fed again.

We caught a nice box of speckled trout in the 1 1/2 lb - 4 lb range. All fish were caught Carolina rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

Danny and the guys don't like to fish any later than 9:30. So, we were able to get back to the dock before the rain.

Great Fun In The Sound Today!!
Today I had a really good time fishing with my grandson (Gavin- age 10), and my two nephews, Jonathon(age 11) and Joshua(age 9). The boys have been asking to go fishing before school started. And, since I didn't have a charter I decided to go enjoy the day with them. Good thing too, because school starts tomorrow. Today was one day they will never forget.

At one point when Joshua hooked a red fish, he was standing in the front of the boat. The red fish took his bait. Then the fish drug him from the front of the boat to the back of the boat. He would not give up or let go. He was determined to get the fish into the boat. His brother Jonathon gave him a hand and they pulled it in. I sure wish I had a video camera to catch the show. The boys showed determination and stamina. We laughed and laughed at the fun of the catch. Memories guys, memories.

We fished the Breton Sound catching reds and trout. All the trout were 2 - 5 lbs and some pretty reds. All fish were caught Carolina rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

The kids did an excellent job catching all of the fish you see in the pictures. One thing about fishing with Fishing Magician Charters is that you get to catch the fish, young or old, the guide does not catch them for you. So if these young boys can catch all of these fish, so can you. Make some memeries. A lot of memories were made today.

Fish everywhere in the Breton Sound!
Today we had three boats in the Sound and everyone of us fished a different area. Capt. Jason had the pleasure of fishing with Brad's son and friends. Jason met Brad and the boys at his camp this morning. Brad told Jason to have the boys in and fish cleaned by 10:30 so they could head back to Baton Rouge. Talk about pressure!!! But Jason pulled it off. They went to Jason's favorite spot. Then, from the first cast to the last cast, they had nonstop action. They got onto a great speckled trout bite:caught a beautiful box of speckled trout in the 12 - 18" range. And, they were back at the dock with their fish cleaned, and then the boys were on their way back to Baton Rouge by 10:30. Great job Jason!

Capt. Jeremy also did a wonderful job today. He had Timothy Cole and his two friends. They also fished Breton Sound and got onto a good speckled trout bite. They put a nice box of speckled trout in the 12 - 18"range in the boat. Everyone went home happy.

I had the pleasure of fishing with: Buster, his brother Kyle, and Kyle's son Russell. We also fished the Breton Sound. All of our fish were in the 12" - 3 lb range. The guys did a great job catching some nice specks. All fish caught today were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina Rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

There is still a lot of speckled trout to be caught. I know it is hard to believe that we catch this kind of fish just about every day, but the pictures do tell our story.

Give us a call to book a trip you will never forget. The hardest things you will have to do is book the trip and then you will get to catch your own fish. This is the time to get out and catch some really nice trout.

Well guys, you know we have been advertising a SEAFOOD BOIL for 12 or more customers. Well, Mac's Construction Company,Inc. decided to take us up on the deal. He didn't bring 12, but he did bring 25 hungry guys to try some of our Louisiana seafood. For most of the guys, this was the first time for them to eat crabs. Once we got the guys started, it was all over with. They said that eventhough this was their first time eating crabs, they guarranteed it would not be their last!!! They really loved the corn, potatoes, and garlic that was boiled in the pot with the crabs, too. Then, throw in a good day of fishing with the seafood boil and it turned out to be one heck of an experience for these guys.

With this big group I had my sons: Capt. Jason and Capt. Jeremy help, and my two friends Casey and Ben. And what a great job the guys did putting their guests onto fish!!

You really should check out the pictures of all the fish these guys caught today. These guys had so much fun that they are coming back for two days fishing and another great seafood boil. One day just wasn't enough of our Louisiana fishing.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp. So, guys if you get a chance, give us a call and visit the oldest marina in town, Campo's Marina. They open at 5 o'clock every morning. So, drop in to pick up some of their famous live shrimp and say a "Hello".

Don't forget to check out the pictures. They will show you that there are still a lot of fish to be caught in the Sound.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us call. The hardest thing you will have to do is pick up the phone or email.

Fishing Magician Charters

Friday's Report
Capt. Jason and I had the pleasure of fishing with John Williams and his guests. One stop is all it took, for both boats, to put two beautiful boxes of trout in the 12 - 18" range into the boats. We were on our way back to the dock by 9:30am. Everyone had a great time in the Breton Sound.

Yesterday morning when we let Shell Beach it was as calm as could be. But when we hit Bay Eloi we met 2' seas. You would not believe the difference. But, the further we got into the sound the calmer the seas were.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call for a trip you will never forget.

Fishing Magician Charters

Today the Fishing Magician Charters Team had 4 boats out. My youngest son,Capt. Jeremy, had the pleasure of fishing with Herman Baxter, his daughter Sahra, Herman's sister Laurie and her granddaughter, Lauryn. My nephew Lester jumped aboard to give Capt. Jeremy a hand with the girls, and they had a blast catching a nice box of speckled trout in the 12 - 18" range. Our priority is to make sure everyone has a great time catching fish, the young and the old, even if it takes an extra set of hands on the boat. We want the adult anglers to enjoy a day fishing and have the pleasure of watching their young ones catch fish.

My son, Capt. Jason and Casey gave me a hand with Jeff Reid and his group. Jeff fishes with us a couple of times a year, rain or shine and they always fish with a smile.

We also finished the day with a really nice pile of trout in the 12 - 18" range.

I am very proud to say that all of my captains and their helpers did a great job today.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork and Carolina rig on the bottom using Campo's live shrimp. All four boats fished the well-heads and the platforms in the Breton Sound area.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. So, give us a call. The hardest thing you will have to do is pick up the phone or email. Don't forget to check out the pictures
