The 10th Annual Faux Pas Lodge Invitational is a little more than a week away. This year is going to be our best yet with the addition of our presenting sponsor, Toyota. July 26, 27, and 28 are the dates and Venice Marina the place of this years rodeo. Accomodations are scarce this late in the game but there are some available rooms in the area. Make your reservations and get ready for a good time. It all starts at South Port Hall Tuesday, July 24, 7 pm, at our Captains party. Thursday midnight fishing starts. Venice Marina will have a shrimp and crab boil for all participants and sponsors. Friday, fishing continues with a dock party at Crawgators Bar and Grill in the Venice marina rounding out the day. Saturday is the last day of fishing with our awards party capping it all off. Don't miss it, it is guaranteed to be a good time. Fishing Magician ChartersToday I had the pleasure of fishing with John, Brandon, and Roy. They came down from Jackson, Miss. to do a little trout fishing. John had fished with me last year and wanted the guys to experience some of our great fishing in Louisiana. We fished the wells and platforms in Bay Eloi and Breton Sound. By the end of our day we had caught:
65 trout in the 12-18" range
5 sheepshead
5 flounder
1 Bull Red. It really was a rough day today with the wind. Considering the conditions, we did very good. All of our fish were caught on the bottom using live shrimp. The guys said they had a great time and are coming back in August. If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call, we have private accommadations.

My friends over at the Faux Pas Lodge are pleased to present the 5th Annual "Faux Pas Lodge Invitational Fishoff" on July 25, 26, 27, in Venice, LA. This rodeo is growing every year with a record in 2001 of 93 boats. In 2002 they expect a much better turn out with prizes growing as well as prize $$$. As usual with this rodeo there is a Cash Calcutta, with the new addition of the Faux Pas Grand Slam Calcutta this year. Please see their website for all information on these Calcuttas.
