Faux Pas Lodge Invitational Goal: To promote conservation awareness and fisheries research in a fun, social environment, while using competitive divisions to capture the interest of all anglers an all skill levels!

The 12th Annual Faux Pas Lodge Invitational is upon us! In 2008 we hurdled many obstacles but still had one of our better turnouts, with 150+ boats an over 700 anglers. From oil spills in the Mississippi River to $4.50/gallon of gas, there were many reasons for people to stay home. As it turns out, they didn't. We fought the conditions, fished hard and put up one of the better leader boards we have seen in years. We are proud to annouce the Non-Profit organizations that are on board, Recreational Fisheries Research Institute (RFRI) - a non-profit conservation, research an outreach group. CCA Louisiana, Wish To Fish Louisiana, an organization with a goal to get kids off the streets an into the great outdoors. Second Harvest Food Bank New Orleans and Friends In Need Foundation. As our rodeo grows we continue to add an improve all aspects. This rodeo started with 20 boats in the Venice Marina 12 years ago with nothing more than a few trophies and people looking to have a good time. It has become a economic boost to Plaquemines parish as well a source of funding, exposure an growth for some of our non-profit affliliates. It is through sponsorship and hard work we have been able to keep the costs to each angler and still have one of the better Rodeos in the south! Come fish for trophies, or fish for money. We offer a challenge for all types and skill level of anglers, with four different divisions: Inshore, Offshore, Rig and "LIVE" Redfish.    The rodeo is located at the Venice Marina in Venice, LA.     Forms will also be available at most of the sponsors' locations or you can download a registration form.  Registration is $35.00 / angler. Raffle Tickets are on sale at this time at Faux Pas Prints.  Raffle tickets are for a signed and framed lithograph from the Carey Chen Collection.

  • July 21 from 6:30pm - till, at South Port Hall (200 Monticello Ave.) Captain's Party for all rodeo participants and sponsors. Captain's meeting at 8:00pm. All registration should be done in advance at Faux Pas Prints. We will be selling raffle tickets for a signed and framed lithograph piece of art from the Carey Chen Collection that will be given away Saturday night at the awards ceremony.  It is here that all registered anglers can pick up their ditty bags including T-Shirt and Visor for all resistered anglers on boat, door prize tickets and much much more. This is a good time for all anglers to mingle and tell their own fish stories.  Don't miss this captain's party. It's always a huge success. There will also be a CCA Louisiana Silent Auction including products that will lure in any Fisherman. Proceeds to benefit CCA Louisiana and Friends In Need Foundation

  • July 23rd, 12 a.m. thursday morning fishing starts.  Free Seafood Boil at 6:00p.m. at Venice Marina with weigh in from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

  • July 24th, second day of fishing. Weigh in from 11:30am to 12:30pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Come drink like a fish and tell stories of a fisherman at CRAWGATORS Bar and Grill, located in the Venice Marina

  • July 25th, Last day of fishing.  Weigh scales open at 3:00 and close at 6:00 sharp. There will be a check in boat from 5:15 - 6:00 pm to check in with. He will leave at 6:00 pm and no boats checked in at this time will be able to weigh fish. The party will start at 7:00 with the awards to be given out soon there after. Food by Blue Runner Red Beans and Catering by Tarpon Joe's

    Party will continue until people or beer run out, whatever comes first.
